As it’s road trip month, it would be wrong not to talk about Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This iconic ride has been at the park since 1999 and has become a favourite amongst music fans and adrenaline junkies. The super cool backstory makes it one of the coolest rides in the park.

Located in Sunset Boulevard, this exhilarating rollercoaster will see you blast off in a stretch limousine through LA. You’ll hear all your favourite Aerosmith songs along your journey. Will you sing a long or will you scream the whole way around the track?

The Queue

The excitement of the ride starts in the queue. You’ll pass through a recording studio, witnessing Aerosmith finishing off a recording session. They’re hurried by their manager to get to the Forum (a famous LA music venue) as they’re going to be late for a show. Their manager summons their ride and you guessed it, a super stretch limousine pulls up. Luckily for the members of the queue, they get invited to the concert, too.

The Ride

Once you enter the limo and wait for the green light, you’ll start to hear the heart-pumping Aerosmith tunes. As the anticipation starts to mount, you’ll notice the countdown. Hold on tight as the limo accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds. Each of the cars blast a different song so every time you ride this mighty rollercoaster, you’re experience it in a totally different way. Hear songs like “Sweet Emotion”, “Dude Looks Like a Lady”, “Walk This Way”, plus so many more.

Fun fact: you’ll notice that “Love in an Elevator” has been changed to “Love in a Roller Coaster” specifically for this ride.

As you venture on this hair-raising journey, you’ll fly through the city of LA, passing iconic landmarks on the way. You’ll have to keep hold of your lunch, the ride is the second fasted in the resort, after Test Track at Epcot.

We’ve found a video on YouTube which shows the whole experience from start to finish. It’s 10 minutes long so if you want to jump straight to the ride, fast forward the video to 6:16.
