St Pete Beach is about an hour and half away from Walt Disney World.
Clearwater Beach is near to St Petersburg and has exceptionally beautiful sandy white beaches. Beach Park is a family friendly beach and is considered to be one of the top 20 beaches in the country. It is also a great place to watch dophins. It’s a suitable place for collecting shells and cycling and watching staggering sunsets.
Also visit the Clearwater Marine Aquarium which has rescued dolphins, fish, sea turtles, and sea otters.
St Pete’s Beach and around is a strip of barrier islands which are hard to rival when it comes to beauty, sunsets, turquoise blue water. It is constantly sunny.
St Petersburg town is a cheerful city to visit. Shops, galleries, and restaurants can be found on Bayshore Drive, a pretty waterfront pier and drive.
In the Tampa Bay area is Busch Gardens. It is part zoo part theme park. But it is basically an animal’s and tourists’ paradise. There are hundreds of different species of animals in the appropriate African type environment. The Busch Gardens Shuttle Express shuttles to Busch Gardens from Orlando.
The Suncoast Trolley goes from St Petersburg Town to Treasure Island which specialises in many different fun water sports. Sanibel, Captiva and Fort Myers is a tropical island with many beaches such as the North and South Lido Beaches which has shady areas therefore great for a picnic. It is quieter there than Orlando.
Go to see the amazing Ringling Museum Complex in Sarasota. This 66-acre area of railroad is part of the museum complex with the most diverse and exceptional art collection including Rubens amongst others. Watch breathtaking sunsets, museums, opera. Like other Gulf Beaches people collect shells, go boating, dolphin watching, golfing and shopping.
Naples and Marco Island brings you to the Everglades with all its animals and flowers, crocodiles and wild beauty. Great for canoeing. Combined with wonderful white sandy beaches it really is an extraordinarily beautiful area to visit.
