The San Francisco Cable Cars are one of the most iconic tourist attractions in the city. Recognised across the world and featured in many blockbuster movies, the cable cars offer help up San Fran’s steepest hills. Running from 6am until midnight, move around the city on these historic carts, enabling you to see unique and memorable views of the surrounding metropolis.
 
Due to their locations, there are two main lines which are most popular with tourists, thanks to their picture-perfect city views. Powell-Hyde and Powell-Mason both start off at Market Street and make their way towards Ghiradelli Square and near Fisherman’s Wharf, respectively. Along the routes, gaze at unobstructed views of Alcatraz and witness Lombard Street, knows as ‘the world’s crookedest street’.

Useful Information

Cable car tickets can be bought on board from the conductor. There are a number of different tickets available, choose from a single journey or an all-day passport for unlimited trips until 11:59pm that day.
