Zoo Miami 
If you’re looking to see some animals that you wouldn’t see usually, then come down to Zoo Miami. Being the largest zoological garden in Florida, you can expect to see some of the most exotic and tropical animals on the planet. Watch apes swing from branch to branch, make friends with some elephants, and take part in education and leisure activities like enjoying waterplay areas, or field trips and night programmes.  

Miami’s Seaquarium offers tourists the chance to see some of the world’s finest sea life in an up- close and personal fashion. Here, you can have once in a lifetime experiences with a ton of enthralling activities including Dolphin Encounters, Seal Swims, Trainer for a Day programmes and plenty of shows involving sea lions and killer whales. 

The Everglades National Park is a famed region in the south of Florida, acres of marshland home to beautiful foliaged landscapes. Here, you can ride an airboat and glide across the Everglades as you take in the charming character of these murky swamps. A far cry from the glitz and glamour of Florida’s cities and beaches, you’ll surely feel lost for words when you’re here. Just watch out for those alligators…. there’ll be one in every corner you look. 

Oleta River State Park 
Away from the hustle and bustle of the more cosmopolitan side of Miami is Oleta River State Park, a gorgeous haven of tranquil nature located on Biscayne Bay. This is the urban park in Florida, offering miles of dirt track for off-road cycling, vast rivers for kayaking and canoeing, as well as picnic tables, grills and pavilions galore, all available to rent for your family’s personal use.

If you’re heading to Miami and want to experience an authentic Cuban festival then Calle Ocho Festival is where it’s at. Get your groove on to the Latin American music that thumps down the streets, with the smell of Cuban cuisine wafting through the air and people in traditional costumes throwing passionate dance moves; there’s certainly an atmosphere. Occurring in Little Havana as a part of Miami’s greater festival, Miami Carnival, this is an unmissable event if you’re visiting the city around March time. 

Miami Shopping 
With Miami’s glamour gleaming, there needs no saying that it’s packed full of great shopping outlets. From designer boutiques to large malls, catering for all budgets and tastes. If you want to splash out on some luxury goods then the Design District between Midtown and Wynwood includes some great options, with an outdoor mall holding Marc by Marc Jacobs, Cartier, Emilio Pucci, and Louis Vuitton. Other large collections of shops can be found at Lincoln Road and Dolphin Malls, or if you’re looking for truly high-end shopping then you’ll definitely want to check out some of the designer outlets on Bal Harbour.
