When planning New York and Barbados multi-centre holidays, there are a few things to bear in mind in terms of climate, as the two destinations vary significantly.
In general, autumn (in particular late September to early October) is a great time to visit both. In New York, you'll enjoy pleasant autumn weather without the sweltering heat of the summer, making it a great time to explore the city without the crowds. Barbados will be coming to the end of hurricane season, so it’s a good time to bask in the island's sunny and pleasant climate.
If you don’t mind the milder temperatures in New York, spring (from April to June) can also be a good time to plan your trip. The city comes alive with blooming flowers, while Barbados has warm and pleasant weather, although there may be slightly more rainfall than other times of year.
If you’re after guaranteed warmth and sunshine in Barbados, consider heading there during the winter months (December to March). It’s also the dry season on the island at this time. Opposingly, New York transforms into a winter wonderland with its festive holiday decorations - a special sight to behold.
Shoulder seasons, including late November and late April, give a good balance between reasonable weather conditions and affordability, and during these months, you'll find fewer crowds and potentially better deals.
New York is usually 5 hours behind the UK, and Barbados is 4 hours behind. However, bear in mind that when the UK observes Daylight Saving Time, the time difference can be reduced by 1 hour. There is no time difference between New York and Barbados.
