After a three-year break, the much-loved Blue Man Group is returning to Orlando on 3rd April 2025 and taking up residence in a brand-new, custom-built theatre at the world-famous
ICON Park on International Drive—a fitting destination for such an ICONic show!
What is the Blue Man Group?
Blue Man Group is an award-winning and one-of-a-kind theatrical act comprising innovative music and art, comedic characters, and jaw-dropping production to create electrifying performances that delight and entertain audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Each lively show always features three bald men covered in distinctive blue paint who play a range of unique, bespoke instruments like giant drums, drum/trombone hybrids, and paint drums, displaying an explosion of colour and sound like nothing you’ll have ever seen before.
Debuting in New York’s Astor Place Theatre in 1991, this ever-changing three-man act has been going strong for more than 30 years, with additional long-term residences in Boston, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Berlin, and multiple North American and World Tours. Before temporarily wrapping up in 2021 during the worldwide Covid pandemic, Blue Man Group was also a mainstay of entertainment at Universal Studios for fourteen years and was one of the most sought-after entertainment experiences on Orlando holidays.
The Venue
The Blue Man Group’s new home, ICON Park, is a twenty-acre entertainment destination that’s open 365 days a year with free parking and no gate admission. It boasts more than a dozen restaurants and bars, a fantastic schedule of nightly live music, amazing attractions such as the Orlando Eye, Sealife Orlando Aquarium, and
Madame Tussauds, as well as heaps of excellent shopping opportunities for all-day and all-night fun. With entrances on International Drive and Universal Boulevard,
ICON Park is easy to access and sits in the heart of Orlando’s theme park and hotel district, making it the perfect spot for the Blue Man Group to rekindle their iconic status in the hearts of Florida holidaymakers.
The Park’s recently constructed theatre is to be used exclusively for Blue Man Group performances and features 578 seats, as well as state-of-the-art lighting and audiovisual technology for out-of-this-world concerts.
What do Blue Man Group performances involve?
This newly devised show will include all the usual high-energy and multi-sensory theatrics that the Blue Man Group is famous for, blending music, slapstick comedy, and non-verbal communication in a range of updated scenes and performances. And long-term fans will still be catered for, with the inclusion of many firm favourites that made the show so popular to audiences from all over the world.
Performances will take place from Tuesday to Sunday with twice-daily matinee and evening shows taking place at 5pm and 8pm. Tickets range from $59 to $104 per person, according to seating level, with some discounted child prices (ages 3-9) available.
Why doesn’t the Blue Man Group talk?
One of the key characteristics of a Blue Man Group show is that the artists on stage don’t communicate with the audience through speech, but rather through music, facial expressions, and gestures. This means that their performances are wide-reaching, transcending language barriers and appealing to all ages and nationalities.
Does the Blue Man Group interact with the audience?
Each show is a mixture of live musical performance and interactive scenes for a captivating and memorable experience. What the Blue Man Group lacks in verbal communication is more than made up through intense eye contact and impeccable comedic and rhythmic timing.
Do you get splashed with paint at the Blue Man Group shows?
The Blue Men generally only make a mess of themselves during performances, but if you’re planning to sit on the front couple of rows, you may not want to dress like you’re attending a black-tie event! Fortunately, ponchos are usually provided just in case any paint-like or gooey materials make their way towards the crowd.
The Area
International Drive and Universal Boulevard are served by the marvellous i-RIDE Trolley, a shuttle transportation service that travels up and down these bustling roads with multiple stops along the way, making it a convenient and inexpensive way to explore the area at your own pace.
