Since LEGOLAND Florida’s grand debut in 2011, its theme park has risen up the ranks in terms of popularity and visitor numbers, closely followed up by its equally as impressive waterpark which launched in 2012. It therefore comes as no surprise that next on the agenda would be a LEGO themed hotel to transform LEGOLAND Florida from a one day attraction to a complete theme park resort experience, similar to what Disney and Universal currently offer but on a smaller scale.
LEGOLAND Florida hotel is scheduled to open in the summer of 2015, spanning across 4 floors and comprising of 152 themed rooms. Its multi-coloured design is unlike any other accommodation found in Florida, characterised by its iconic LEGO features. Hotel amenities will include a swimming pool, interactive play areas, a family restaurant and many more facilities that are yet to be announced. This will be the 5
th LEGOLAND hotel in the world, with properties already situated in Windsor, California, Malaysia and Billund.
Guests that choose to stay at this hotel will benefit from a very personal LEGOLAND experience. Special guest services include early entrance to the LEGOLAND theme park and waterpark, as well as nightly entertainment for the children. In addition to this on arrival guests are invited to partake in a treasure hunt, with a LEGO prize on offer. Each room also contains LEGO brick for children and adults to play with during their stay.
Guestrooms are themed in 3 distinct styles; Kingdom, Pirate and Adventure, allowing imaginations to run wild. Standard amenities in every room include a king-size bed in the adult sleeping area and bunk beds in the separate children’s sleeping area, fitted with an additional pull out trundle bed and an entertainment unit. Other facilities include 2 flat screen televisions, a mini fridge, coffee maker and Wi-Fi access. There are also a number of upgraded rooms, known as premium themed rooms and VIP suites.
LEGOLAND Florida is situated just 45 minutes from the Orlando theme parks and in our opinion is an excellent theme park resort, particularly for families with children aged 2 -12. In order to experience everything that the parks have to offer we recommend a minimum of 2 days and of course a night or 2 staying at the LEGOLAND hotel for guests travelling from summer 2015 onwards.
