Mobile phone apps are especially handy in a place like Orlando. Organising the rides you’ll queue for, booking a table at your favourite restaurant, locating your nearest electric car charging station… There’s so much to coordinate in an Orlando holiday, hence why there’s every reason to consider downloading these apps. All of these apps are purely for practicality, and are super effective in making what can be a stressful itinerary as efficient, and therefore as fun, as possible! Lets begin...

Universal Orlando Resort App

If you’re planning a significant amount of time at Universal Orlando Resort then this app is a necessity. It’ll keep you in the know about all things Universal. Receive regular queue updates, view maps, and stay connected with the resorts free XFINITY Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi works wherever you go within the park, so if youve got this app youll always be online. You can also find specific information on certain attractions too. Filter by ride, show, restaurant or shop, to find the latest news so you can coordinate your in-app to-do list.

The most helpful of features in this app has to be the virtual wallet. Drop the anxiety of keeping hold of your wallet or purse! Youll be too busy enjoying yourself to be constantly double-checking your jean pockets anyway. Assign your credit or debit card to the app, and you can make purchases within the park. Youll already have your hands full looking out for the kids, let alone your wallet. Which is why this app is perfect, as it means that cash and cards are a thing of the past.

SeaWorld Discovery Guide

As well as being an amazing theme park to enjoy, SeaWorld often prides itself on its work and education on conservation. So, it’d be no surprise that SeaWorld’s Discovery Guide offers a wealth of detailed information about the animals within the park. Find out where they’re from, what particular breed they are, their day-to-day behaviours and so much more.

You’ll also find practical information like waiting times for rides, a GPS and even a Car Finder feature that is super-helpful when you’ve forgotten where you parked!

My Disney Experience Mobile App

When you book a stay at a Disney hotel, you can start using this app 60-days advance to when you arrive. This means you can start planning the magic well before you walk into the theme park gates. Do you like to beat the queues? This app lets you make up to three FastPass+ reservations per Disney park. You couldnt get a more appropriate app for theme park lovers, right?

Such features include scheduling character meet and greets and restaurant table reservations, a particularly worthy reason to use this app since popular restaurants like Cinderella’s Royal Table or Be Our Guest are highly sought after. You can also use this app to preview your PhotoPass images throughout your holiday, as well as use it as a GPS, making it incredibly useful indeed.

Useful for Fly Drives

Orlando ParkIN’

If you’re going to hire a car for your Orlando holiday then this app is essential. Parking facilities are pretty good around Orlando’s hotspots. However, this is an internationally frequented tourist destination. There’s no doubt that a few other holidaymakers are going to hire cars too. Therefore, you may find yourself struggling to park every now and then. That’s where this gem comes in. Download this mobile app and you’ll be informed as to where spaces are, so you can nip in that parking bay before anyone else does!

PlugShare – Electric Vehicle

If you’ve chosen the enviro-friendly option of an electric car for your fly-drive holiday, you’ll be keen to know where exactly you can charge the ol’ girl up. Fortunately, Orlando has a lot more electric car charging points than Blighty, so you won’t be stuck for a place to refuel. The PlugShare app is incredibly helpful for finding these charging points. So don’t worry about not having enough electricity in the tank, because when you download this, your car won’t run out of charge unless your phone does.

Youll probably have a better idea on what apps youll need when you know what attractions youll be visiting.
