Why a Kissimmee Villa Makes a Brilliant Getaway in Every Season

When you’re planning a Florida holiday, where you stay can make just as much difference as what you do. Autumn

Gatorland’s Gators, Ghosts, and Goblins

Halloween gets a very Floridian makeover at Gatorland. On select weekends from 10th to 25th October 2026, the Alligator Capital of the World gets into the spooky spirit with its annual Gators, Ghosts and Goblins event. Regular park admission gets you into the Halloween action, with trick-or-treating, live shows, animal encounters and the return of the Haunted Museum, which has a brand-new theme. For younger visitors, the highlight is likely to be the Children’s Halloween Costume Parade, where participating children receive treat bags. It’s not every day you get to dress up for Halloween surrounded by alligators.

The Terror 2 at Boggy Creek

For something more ominous, head to Boggy Creek after dark. The Terror 2 returns every Saturday from 19th September to 31st October 2026, transforming the Florida wilderness into a seriously sinister setting. The evening combines a nighttime airboat adventure, haunted military truck tour and spooky walking trail, with the option to add the Survive the Swamp blaster arena. It’s Halloween with considerably more mud and Florida swamp.

Halloween at Old Town

For a more traditional family Halloween, head to Old Town on 31st October 2026. The streets come alive with spooky entertainment, a Halloween Costume Contest and free Trunk or Treating, giving little monsters the chance to stock up on sweets. And because this is Old Town, you can expect plenty of classic cars thrown into the mix. 

Krush Braus Annual Oktoberfest

After all that Halloween mayhem, perhaps a stein and some live music are in order. Krush Brau’s annual Oktoberfest runs from 16th September to 25th October 2026, bringing Bavarian-style celebrations to the USA’s largest German beer hall. With more than 10 acres of beer gardens, traditional food, live music and Oompah bands, and Bavarian-inspired entertainment from stein-holding contests to barrel races and keg tapping ceremonies, it’s certainly not your average night out.
 

Winter

Kissimmee’s Festival of Lights Parade

Christmas arrives in Kissimmee with the annual Festival of Lights Parade, taking place on 13th December 2026 around historic Downtown Kissimmee and Kissimmee Lakefront Park. The festivities begin with a Holiday Festival at City Hall, where children can enjoy the KUA Kids Power Zone and write letters to Santa, before the main event gets underway. Then, the Festival of Lights Parade brings the main event, lighting up downtown with a colourful procession that’s sure to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. Best of all, it’s free to attend.

Now Snowing Nightly at Celebration

Fancy a white Christmas in Florida? Head to Celebration, where Now Snowing Nightly will turn the charming Celebration Town Centre into a winter wonderland from 28th November to 31st December 2026. The event is free, and each evening brings festive music, twinkling lights and regular snowfalls. Watching snow drift through the air while you’re technically enjoying a Florida holiday is one of those wonderfully surreal experiences that makes for a great family photo.

Holinights Celebration at Promenade at Sunset Walk

Over at Promenade at Sunset Walk, Christmas gets a little more glamorous with its annual Holinights celebration. While details for the 2026 event are still to be announced, previous celebrations have transformed the outdoor entertainment district into a festive wonderland with nightly lighting of the animated Christmas tree, live entertainment, seasonal markets, and plenty of festive characters. There’s even the Pearl Express miniature train for a festive ride around Sunset Walk.

ICE! at Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center

For serious festive spectacle, ICE! at Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center is hard to beat. From 13th November 2026 to 3rd January 2027, the resort’s enormous ice attraction returns with a The Polar Express theme. Inside the 20,000-square-foot attraction, you’ll find larger-than-life ice sculptures, ice slides and scenes inspired by the much-loved Christmas story. And yes, you’ll want a jacket. Florida may be warm outside, but ICE! is kept at a nippy -13°C.
 

Spring

Kowtown Festival

Every March, Kissimmee throws itself a birthday party, and everyone’s invited. Usually held at Kissimmee Lakefront Park, Kowtown Festival brings the community together for a day of live music, food trucks, local vendors and plenty to keep the kids entertained. The KUA Kids Power Zone keeps younger visitors entertained, while the food and entertainment give everyone else a chance to soak up some local Kissimmee flavour. It’s a great way to see a side of the city that you won’t necessarily get from the theme parks.

Silver Spurs Rodeo

For a taste of the Wild West, there’s the Silver Spurs Rodeo. Kissimmee’s legendary rodeo has been celebrating cowboy culture for more than 80 years and is the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi. It features all seven classic rodeo events: bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, and barrel racing, so you won’t miss a thing. The rodeo takes place twice a year, but the spring event is the bigger four-day celebration.

Taste of Kissimmee

Kissimmee’s annual foodie festival is a well-loved springtime event. Kissimmee’s culinary scene brings together some of the best flavours from across the city for one very tasty day out. Expect everything from smoky BBQ, craft beer and freshly baked pastries to Colombian, Cuban, Spanish, Asian, Caribbean and Italian favourites. It’s a proper melting pot of cuisines.

Old Town Classic Car Show & Cruise Anniversary

Old Town is famous for its weekly Saturday Nite Classic Car Show, but every March it turns things up a notch for the Classic Car Show & Cruise Anniversary, which celebrates its 37th anniversary in 2027. Think of it as the bigger, all-day sibling of the weekly event, with show-quality classic cars, hot rods, street rods and antiques joined by live music, stage performances, giveaways and more.
 

Summer

Island H2O Family Foam Party

Summer weekends at Island H2O Water Park get even more fun with the Family Foam Party. Held particularly on weekends in August, it brings music, foam and plenty of splashing to the Live Lagoon Wave Pool. A giant foam cannon fills the pool with mountains of suds while island beats keep the party going. It’s messy, energetic and great fun for the whole family.

Red, White, & Horsepower 4th of July Fest at Old Town Kissimmee

If classic cars, live music and fireworks sound like your kind of jam, head to the annual Old Town in Kissimmee for the Red, White, & Horsepower 4th of July Fest. The annual evening event centres around Old Town’s famous Saturday Night All American Car Show, with live music and entertainment keeping the atmosphere buzzing. And when the sun goes down, the celebration ends on a high with a free fireworks spectacular lighting up the sky.

Gatorpalooza at Gatorland

And if the family hasn’t had quite enough excitement, Gatorpalooza at Gatorland is another summer highlight. This annual family festival celebrates Gatorland’s birthday - and puts on a one-of-a-kind party, featuring live music, food vendors, craft vendors, games and plenty of gator-themed fun. One of the biggest highlights is the wonderfully ridiculous Gatorland Florida Man Challenge, which is every bit as entertaining as its name suggests.
