So, if you’re looking for the ultimate place to chill after a day exploring the theme parks, this slice of heaven is calling. With amenities galore and dining to die for, it pulls out all the stops for your Florida family holiday...

Overview

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is a moderate resort that captures the essence of the Caribbean islands of Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, Trinidad, and Aruba and will whisk you away to sheer bliss. This is a popular choice for family holidays due to its proximity to the parks (courtesy of a complimentary bus), as well as the abundance of things to enjoy on-site, such as Movies Under the Stars, Disney-themed pools, and walking trails to take in your picturesque surroundings. Plus, with rooms equipped for up to five people, everyone is welcome.

History of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Having lured Disney dwellers to its shores since 1988, this became the first moderate-level resort at Walt Disney World. Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort was part of a major expansion of accommodations under the reigns of former CEO Michael Eisner. In 2018 the resort underwent a major refurbishment of the rooms and dining areas, as well as introducing a new lobby area known as Old Port Royale. Over the years, the resort has continued to grow, with it now serving as the main hub for the Skyliner, which connects the resorts and theme parks. The resort has enduring appeal due to its unique Caribbean theme which lets visitors immerse themselves in the sun-soaked islands while still having all of Walt Disney World at their fingertips.

Check-in details at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

With the resort’s handy online check-in option, you can skip the usual front desk line and go straight to your room. All you have to do is link your resort reservation with your Disney account on My Disney Experience or through the website. Once this is done, all updates regarding your room will be through the app or via text and you can then use your Disney band to unlock your door. Check-in is at 3pm, however, you can access certain areas, such as the pool, with your Disney band beforehand.

Room options at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Each room comes equipped with either Queen- or King-sized beds perfect for a comfy night’s sleep, as well as your own bathroom, and flat screen TV for those family movie nights. You can take your pick from a variety of views, including woodland, water, courtyard, or pool views. And as of 2023, fans of The Little Mermaid can rejoice with the new themed room replacing the infamous pirate rooms. So, if you fancy a night under the sea, booking this room is a must.

Dining and Entertainment at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

With a stay at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, you will have plenty more activities to enjoy beyond the theme parks. Swashbucklers will want to make a splash at the pirate-themed pool, complete with slides and a shipwreck play area. For those who like to take it a little easier, you can take your pick from five other leisure pools. And if you want to keep your fitness up on holiday, jogging trails and volleyball courts are on hand to help. Then come nightfall, relax with a classic Disney movie with Movies Under the Stars or gather the family for old fashioned camping fun as you roast marshmallows by the crackling fire near the main beach of Martinique. You also have a host of dining options to choose from when you get peckish for more than just marshmallows. Sebastian’s Bistro celebrates flavours of the Caribbean with citrus chicken, mojo pork and flank steak. For quick service meals, Centertown Market can provide, while Spyglass Grill serves up a menu of American fare with a Caribbean twist.
