Famously known for being a family-friendly holiday destination, Walt Disney World Resort is also a great place to enjoy a nightcap and late-night boogie. EPCOT’s World Showcase is a popular resort for a beverage or two, but to really explore the world of Disney, we love hopping aboard the free Disney Monorail for a bar crawl like no other…

The Journey

The Disney Monorail travels in a clockwise direction and makes five stops en route. The Monorail ride itself is free, but you can pay to park near Disney’s Transportation & Ticket Center, which is accessed via the Magic Kingdom Park parking lot, and begin from there. Complimentary self-parking is available at each Disney Hotel on the list below, but you may need a confirmed room or dining reservation.

There are three routes available on the Disney Monorail: Ticket Transportation Center to Magic Kingdom Park, Magic Kingdom to EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom to select Disney Resort Hotels.

Where does the Disney Monorail stop?

Stop 1: Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC)

If you’re driving to Walt Disney World Resort and planning to park, you can do so at the TTC, where you’ll need to pay the standard parking fee of $30 per day. This is where you’ll likely begin and end your Monorail journey if you’re not staying in-resort, but if the night isn’t over when you return, head on the other line and continue the fun in EPCOT!

Stop 2: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Your first stop is the tropical paradise that is Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort with its island feel and South Pacific-inspired surroundings.

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is a casual and popular watering hole offering a great selection of beers and wines and theatrical cocktails with colourful names like ‘HippopotoMai-Tai’, ‘Krakatoa Punch’, and ‘Tahitian Torch’. Its laid-back air and whimsical décor offer a relaxing setting, and if you fancy sticking around for more than one, take your libations over to Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace for an al fresco live music experience under the stars.

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto

Tambu Lounge is a Hawaiian-themed bar that sits next door to one of the Resort’s best restaurants, ‘Ohana, offering a charming spot to chill out and enjoy views over Seven Seas Lagoon while waiting for dinner reservations. Its dazzling cocktail menu showcases tropical flavours and colours, from the ‘Polynesian Mai Tai’ and ‘Indigo Hibiscus’ to the ‘Rum Swizzle’ and the classic ‘Piña Colada’ – there’s one for every taste at this spirited lounge bar. The Hawaiian-sourced and inspired beer list is also excellent here!

Stop 3: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Next up comes this elegant Disney Deluxe Resort, which blends Victorian-style refinement with contemporary surroundings to create a uniquely magical destination.

Enchanted Rose is the Resort’s signature bar and lounge, inspired by the live-action Beauty and the Beast for a timeless ambience. Sip beautifully crafted cocktails, specialty mocktails, and nibble on delightful appetisers under the luminous glow of the chandelier above – a homage to Belle’s golden ballgown – and be transported to a fairytale setting fit for royalty.

Cítricos Lounge is located within the restaurant of the same name on the hotel’s second floor. Taking inspiration from the whimsical garden scene in Mary Poppins, you can settle down and enjoy the bar’s chic atmosphere while sampling from its extensive wine list.

Stop 4: Magic Kingdom Park

If you have purchased park tickets and want to make a stop at the Happiest Place on Earth for a quick one on your bar crawl, you can head in and check out its themed restaurants (be aware that reservations are usually required).

Alcohol isn’t openly served or carried in this park unlike the other three in Walt Disney World Resort, so bars aren’t plentiful. However, if you know where to go, you can find a restaurant to kick back in and continue your beverage journey accompanied by a nice dinner.

Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen

Try joining the walk-up lists using the My Disney Experience mobile app at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant, Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen or The Plaza Restaurant on Main Street and take a break before heading back out on your expedition.

Stop 5: Disney’s Contemporary Resort

End your bar crawl on a high note at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, with several unique bars to check out from bottom to top.

Steakhouse 71 Lounge is a stylish venue that oozes 1970s vibes and has a classic drinks menu that harks back to this retro era when the park first opened. Sample an aromatic ‘French 71’ with prosecco, cognac, pear nectar, agave syrup, and lemon juice, or a refreshing ‘Blackberry Orange Spritz’, which blends peach- and orange-infused vodka, blackberries, botanical liqueur, and is topped up with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc.

The Outer Rim Lounge is positioned on the fourth floor and is a serene spot where you can drink and enjoy peaceful views over Bay Lake. Sleek in style, with cool lighting and cosmic touches here and there, this is a great stop for people-watching and winding down. Try the out-of-this-world ‘Blue Glow-tini’, a luminous concoction of vodka, peach schnapps, blue curaçao, and pineapple juice. What makes it glow, you ask? A souvenir glow cube plopped in at the end!

California Grill Lounge

If you’re lucky enough to nab a seat at the vibrant California Grill Lounge on the hotel’s top floor, you will experience stunning panoramic views over Seven Seas Lagoon and the Magic Kingdom while you drink – time it right and you may be treated to the park’s nightly fireworks display as your backdrop! Accessed via a private elevator, this lively establishment has an epic wine collection and a vast array of delectable signature cocktails to work your way through and close your evening in style.
