It’s National Piña Colada Day! We’ve been sipping this sweet, tropical tipple for years and it’s high up on our list of favourite cocktails. Made with white rum, coconut cream or coconut milk and pineapple juice, this irresistible cocktail is sure to transport you to a faraway paradise. The Piña Colada has been a popular choice since the 50s and has become one of those cocktails you always drink on holiday. With that in mind, we give you our lowdown of our favourite bars for a Piña Colada in Daytona to toast to this very special day. *Hiccup!*

Daytona is the ultimate beach side location. The lively beach bars are dotted along the world famous coastline and the glorious sunshine is always in the sky. It’s got super-cool surfers and a boardwalk to boast about, it’s the perfect setting for people watching and slurping Piña Colada.

Prepare for the sand between your toes and the 1979 Rupert Holmess Piña Colada song "Escape" to be stuck in your head for the foreseeable future.

Caribbean Jacks

Overlooking the Halifax River, enjoy traditional Caribbean fare alongside your Piña Colada. The restaurant is known for its laid back atmosphere. Don’t be fooled, this place likes a party and is open until late in the evening.

Bahama Breeze

Smack bang opposite the Daytona Beach International Speedway you’ll find Bahama Breeze. A very important thing to note is happy hour. You can get the Ultimate Piña Colada for just $5 (yep you read that right) between 4pm and 6pm Monday to Friday, then 9pm – close Sunday to Thursday.

Joes Crab Shack

This easy going restaurant and bar offers a warm welcome, plenty of fresh seafood and copious amounts of cocktails. Their Piña Colada is rather extravagant, it’s finished with whipped cream, toasted coconut, fresh cut pineapple ring and a cherry on the top. It’s served in a pineapple for that extra sense of je ne sais quoi?

Waves Beach Bar

Located in the Daytona Hilton Hotel, overlooking the ocean, Waves Beach Bar offers a quiet place to enjoy the views. Open until late in the evening, enjoy the serene sunset views whilst sipping this tropical treat.

Sloppy Joes Daytona Beach

Expect good food and good times at Sloppy Joes. Dine of all of the fresh seafood the ocean has to offer, relax in chilled out surroundings and slurp Piña Colada. Sit in the sin enjoying the live music, which is on offer most nights of the week with the coastline as your backdrop.
