ENERGETIC ATLANTA

OLD DIXIE 
Time spent following the 100-mile Antebellum Trail puts you straight onto the set of Gone with the Wind. The trail snakes through the places that escaped General Sherman's famous March to the Sea at the end of the Civil War, and takes in towns alive with gorgeous antebellum architecture like Athens and Madison, as well as several old plantation houses. 

THE GOLDEN ISLES 
Just off the coast at Brunswick are four picturesque barrier islands, where pristine stretches of marshland, punctuated by small islands called 'hammocks', make for the perfect seaside experience on Georgia USA holidays. Atlanta's 'Sweet Auburn' is where civil rights leader Martin Luther King lived and is buried alongside his wife Coretta Scott King. You can tour the home where King was born and the church where three generations of the family preached, as well as visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Change - dedicated to King's beliefs and the civil rights struggle.
