Things to do on International Drive 

If you’re planning on a trip to International Drive then you’ll have a seemingly infinite number of leisure activities to get involved in, from 7-dimensional adventure rides and helicopter charters taking you sky-high to the I-Drive NASCAR Kart Racing track. Take part in a round of Topgolf, meet nautical friends at SeaWorld, or escape a swarm of undead at the Zombie Outbreak live-action experience. 

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the action and need to re-charge, then why not take it easy for the night and watch a show at one of the many theatres around the strip? Or, why not kick back in a bar? There’s a ton of eclectic venues across International Drive including Backstage Billiards for a round of pool, BB King’s Blues Club for live R&B goodness from an 11-piece band, and even an English gastropub if you fancy a taste of home.  

Kids will have an especially great time as International Drive is packed full of children’s activities. Monkey Joe’s provides wall-to-wall inflatables, a play centre, and a Mini Monkey Zone for toddlers. Or, children can marvel at the wonders of their favourite sweet-treats at Chocolate Kingdom for the Factory Adventure Tour. They can even have a swing at Volcano Island Mini Golf for a fun tee-off on some whacky courses. This tourist strip is teeming with fun-filled activities to sink your teeth into, whether you’re a leisure-seeking parent, a child with a thirst for fun, or a teen in search of the best thrill-rides in the land; the time of your life awaits you at International Drive.

New Year’s Eve 

Every New Year’s Eve, I-Drive celebrates in tremendous style by hosting several events across the resort. Such include family-oriented restaurant evenings, masquerade balls, live music and comedy shows, as well as fine dining events to see the new year in with a bang. 

Live Music Events 

I-Drive hosts live music events regularly with epic live sets by talented covers bands as well as some of the biggest names in the music industry. The strip holds several music venues hosting some excellent household names, including The Killers, Beck, Velvet Revolver, Nelly, and a ton of other bands and musicians. So why not pop in one of these venues and throw some shapes to house-bands playing classic rock anthems that everyone knows? Or come and see one of your favourite acts hit the stage? Whichever you choose, fans of live performances will be blown away with the musical offerings at I-Drive. 

Weekly Events 

Across the entire strip there are weekly events that’ll sway you to come on into the various venues where the action is happening. From Ladies’ Nights at the local bars and laser-tag venues, to dining with characters and comedy open mics, you have so much to look forward to week in and week out.  

Orange County Convention Centre 

The Orange County Convention Centre is the perfect place to visit, take part in, or host meetings and conventions in. With 7 million square feet of space and 2.1 million square feet dedicated to hosting exhibitions, holding up to 1,400,000 attendees, this is the second largest convention centre in America. With a diverse selection of events occurring throughout the year, you’ll have a chance to catch some excellent exhibitions during your stay at International Drive. 

Pointe Orlando 

During your stay at International Drive you may want to take up some retail therapy at Pointe Orlando, an outdoor shopping centre jam-packed with shops and restaurants, as well as a comedy club and a WonderWorks Museum. Some retailers here include Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret, Hollister Co., Armani Exchange, Sunglasses Hut, and even a Regal Entertainment Group Cinema. 

SeaWorld Orlando 

Enter a world of aqua-fun at SeaWorld Orlando at International Drive. See some of the most incredible creatures from the deep scattered across this action-packed theme park, as well as ride rollercoasters, see shows, and dine at various restaurants. You and your family will have an excellent time here meeting some nautical friends at this excellent aquarium and leisure complex. 

Universal’s Volcano Bay 

Prepare for the most exciting waterpark experience in all of Florida, Universal’s Volcano Bay. Centred around a huge volcano with three drop slides at the top, the park holds dozens of attractions and rides over several areas. The Wave Village is dedicated to relaxation and sunbathing, the River Village has aqua-delights for families and little ones, and the Rainforest Village is packed with thrill-rides that’ll have you on the edge of your seat!  

In addition, Universal offer their innovative Tapu Tapu experience, a wristband that allows guests to interact with the waterpark’s environment. For example, a tap of the wristband in the right place can set off water springs and illuminate caves. What’s more, the wristbands also let guests hold their place in queues as well as pay for merchandise and food by linking to a credit card without having to bring that card or money with them, making enjoying the park the best experience it can possibly be.   

ICON Orlando 

Take it to the top with a visit to ICON Orlando, an observation wheel at International Drive that allows you to take one of the best views of the strip and the vast plains of Orlando. From the calm of your capsule, you’ll be lifted 400-feet high to catch some of the most serene vistas on offer in the region, including the downtown Orlando Skyline, theme parks, and Cape Canaveral on the east coast.

International Drive is in a central location to Florida, perching just below Orlando city. Excellent for getting around, staying here means being close to the sun-soaked town of Kissimmee, and having all the major theme parks right on your doorstep.
