New SeaWorld Coasters
SeaWorld has been making waves by launching some of the world's fastest, tallest, and first-of-its-kind rides in recent years. From Surf Coasters to Screamin’ Swings, discover which groundbreaking attractions will have arrived in time for your Florida holiday…
Tigris
Florida’s tallest launch coaster, Tigris, opened in 2019 at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Inspired by the agility of Earth's biggest cat, the ride promises not one, not two, but three hair-raising launches forwards and backwards, as you drop, loop, roll and roar at more than 60 miles per hour. And here is a top tip for thrill seekers: sit in the front seats for better views, but the back seats for greater intensity.
Ice Breaker
Under the hot Floridian sun, sometimes you need to cool off. Luckily, in February 2022, the IceBreaker opened at SeaWorld Orlando! Named after the Arctic summits, the ride is SeaWorld’s first multi-directional roller coaster and boasts the steepest vertical drop in Florida – at 93 feet. Ever since its first launch, this landmark attraction has looked destined be a fan-favourite for years to come.
Iron Gwazi
In March 2022, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay took entertainment to new heights by revamping the iconic Iron Gwazi. This crocodile-inspired attraction was originally built as a wooden ride in 1999 before being brought into the 21st century as a re-designed hybrid ride. Better yet, Iron Gwazi is now North America’s tallest and the world’s fastest hybrid coaster: reaching 206 feet and top speeds of 76 miles per hour with a dozen airtime moments in between.
Riptide Race
Grab a raft and get a partner for Florida’s first-ever duelling waterslide: Riptide Race! Open since April 2022, racers start atop a 68-foot tower in side-by-side lanes. As you plunge toward victory, you can see a full view of the competition across low walls with more twists and turns than SeaWorld’s snakes. It’s a dash to the splash through 650 feet of slides promising unforgettable family fun.
Serengeti Flyer
Prepare to turn the thrill metre to 'extreme' for this Screamin’ Swing ride. Set to open in spring 2023, Serengeti Flyer is yet another SeaWorld Parks attraction that will be the tallest and the fastest of its kind. With each swing, you’ll soar higher above Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s Serengeti Plain, before reaching a peak of 135 feet. However, don't expect to be idly watching those pretty views pass by, as you’ll be experiencing numerous g-force moments that are so negative-g they’re almost f!
Pipeline: The Surf Coaster
Ever imagined riding the ocean waves amongst the clouds? It’s the kind of surfer’s dream reserved for sleep. Yet in 2023, SeaWorld Orlando is redefining what’s possible in the fantasy world of theme parks. As soon as you take your position on Pipeline: the Surf Coaster, you will know something feels different. This first-of-its-kind coaster shifts your seat up and down, letting you ride every bank and curve with unparalleled movement at 110 feet, at over 60mph. Are you ready to get on board?
