What are your plans for 2024? If they include a Florida holiday, this will call for meticulous preparation on your part.

You might not be too daunted by the prospect. In fact, you could have a lot of fun poring over details of top Florida attractions — like NASA’s Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, the Salvador Dalí Museum in St Petersburg, and the Everglades National Park, where alligators and crocodiles roam.

However, since you will only be seeing an alligator later and a crocodile in a while (yes, we’re sure you see what we’ve done there), you should first decide what Florida holiday accommodation to book.

Staying in Central Florida can keep a wealth of Florida landmarks within your reach. Keep in mind, for example, that the Champions Gate Resort is less than ten miles away from Florida’s biggest attraction - Walt Disney World. However, what could you eat before paying Mickey Mouse a visit?

Grab a bite to eat at the Oasis Grille Room

As a member of Champions Gate’s stunning community living between the cities of Kissimmee and Davenport, you would be able to take advantage of plentiful onsite amenities.

Fancy going for a swim? You could do that at the Oasis Clubhouse’s resort-style swimming pool. Want to play a few rounds of golf on a world-class course? The Champions Gate Golf Course — resplendent in challenging holes and fairways — is waiting for you.

Of course, if you are going to be busy at Champions Gate, you should remember to keep your energy levels nicely topped up. Fortunately, if you find yourself eager to nourish yourself with either a snack or a five-course meal, you can satiate your tastebuds at the resort’s Oasis Grille Room.

You might recognise a few of the Champions Gate restaurant names…

That’s because several of them are actually part of larger chains with outlets dotted across the United States. Admittedly, maybe you won’t quite recognise all of those names after all if you have never or rarely visited America — but Champions Gate does has its own McDonalds

This McDonalds is open 24 hours a day. You can use the McDonalds ‘Mobile Order & Pay’ app on your iPhone or Android handset to place your order — all without you even having to leave your Champions Gate villa, if you wish. You could proceed to collect the order from the store later.

Other restaurant chains that you might have previously sampled elsewhere in the US, but that also happen to be present at Champions Gate, include Tijuana Flats and Chili’s — both renowned for their ‘Tex Mex’ cuisine — and Red Robin, a reliable source of gourmet cheeseburgers and steak fries.

Then there’s the “fast-casual bakery-café” Panera Bread, where soups, salads, sandwiches and baguettes are served sans artificial preservatives or sweeteners.

Embrace some European culture — yes, even in Florida

The Sunshine State is one place you probably wouldn’t expect to hear bagpipe music. However, at another Champions Gate eatery, the Piper’s Bar and Grille, you can listen to exactly that on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings shortly before the sun sets.

While Piper’s can give you breakfast and lunch as well as selected sandwiches and salads, the dining experience over at Trevi’s is distinctively Italian — and offers an ‘al fresco’ component.

Get a sweet deal on a sweet treat

Will you have kids in tow on your Florida holiday? Your offspring’s own food tastes could lean rather on the sweet side. It’s undoubtedly good news, then, that Baskin-Robins would be happy to keep your kids occupied with ice cream and cake

Another establishment you should watch out for at Champions Gate is Dunkin’ — where the menu options include doughnuts, sandwiches, wraps, coffee and espresso.

There’s no shortage of dining options at Champions Gate

No matter where your culinary preferences lie, you are likely to find a restaurant to suit at this well-supplied resort, which covers an area of about 1,500 acres overall.

Even if you like your food to be served with a large dose of sport, there’s David’s Club, where you can tuck into steak at a luxurious sports bar while major sports matches are screened.
