We all know Walt Disney World is the Happiest Place on Earth, but we like to think some of the Disney magic stays with us. Whenever we hear a classic Disney song from our childhood, or each time we watch a mouse-eared movie with our family, we get that festive feeling again. So while only the lucky few get to have a holly jolly time in Orlando, with a little planning and imagination, the rest of us could still have a Disney Christmas at home in 2022 - and here's how...

Have a Disney Movie Marathon

Indulge yourself with a Disney movie marathon, playing only nostalgic Christmas classics. It's time to bring out the fleece blankets and snuggle up on the sofa with your fellow Disney fanatics as you choose between a wide selection of festive feel-good films. The real question is, which movie will you pick first? For cheeky, cheerful giggles there’s the blast from the past Home Alone series. And no white Christmas is complete without watching Frozen - in fact, why not watch the sequel too? That's before we've even mentioned star-topping contenders like Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas, The Muppet Christmas Carol and The Nightmare Before Christmas!

Play Christmas Film Bingo

Now, who doesn’t love a bit of festive competition? Raise the bar on your Disney movie experience by creating a DIY Christmas Film Bingo. As you watch and sing along, keep your pencils ready to cross off typically Christmassy events on your bingo sheet. See a snowy white magical wonderland? Tick. Is there a child longing to bring the Christmas spirit to their overworked parents? Tick. Does an unassuming pair find themselves under the mistletoe? Tick. And finally, does a Christmas miracle take place? Tick. BINGO!

Plan a Disney Quiz Night

Another fun activity is a Disney Christmas-themed quiz. And let’s be real, who doesn’t love a quiz - especially when you’re a walking Disney encyclopaedia. Base the questions around Disney’s Christmas movies, or better yet, task this to another friend or family member so you can compete and show off your Disney chops to the whole family. And if everyone is a Disney pundit, well, you better start bingeing those movies to nab first place!

Fill Your Home With Disney Songs

If you ever needed an excuse to play your Disney tunes around the house, it's the most wonderful time of the year to start. Turn up the volume for a festive dance party or simply create a merry atmosphere with background music. And the songs don’t even have to be Christmassy, as all of Disney’s beats bring that warm fuzzy feeling. Just sit down and make a Disney playlist of your all-time favourites. And whether you’re setting the Christmas table, whipping up a storm in the kitchen, or hugging your full belly after a hearty Christmas meal, you can rely on Disney to set a festive mood.

Decorate Your Home with Disney Ornaments

Being a Disney fan, you’ll naturally love heart-warming occasions that bring people together. So you’ve surely decked your halls, living space, and every surface with the shiniest, sparkliest Christmas decorations. Yet even if your Christmas tree is choc-a-bloc, it’s always worth a browse in the Disney store or shopDisney to find new additions. In fact, you won’t just find tree decorations, you can fully Disney-fy your home with Christmas-themed ornaments and homeware - from Disney wreaths to Mickey and Minne Mouse cookie cutters.

Bake Disney Treats

If you’ve purchased the Disney cookie cutters, then you’re all set to bake magical confectionaries. Yet fortunately for others, it isn’t hard to recreate Mickey’s ears with a little effort (and YouTube).  And if it turns out to be a flop, you can just say they're Pluto's. So bedazzle your biscuits in Disney-like embellishments - the brighter and bolder, the better. And don't forget to mix the food colouring to lather on the icing and go wild with sprinkles of golden sugary pearls.

Dress Up in Disney Christmas Jumpers

You know how the song goes... When the weather outside is frightening, what better way to keep warm than with a Disney Christmas jumper? Get the whole family involved as you dine for Christmas, sporting your Disney attire. And it doesn’t have to stop at Christmas jumpers. Don Christmassy Mickey Mouse Ears or a Disney Christmas hat, and if you’re feeling lazy, there are Disney Christmas pyjamas, so there are no excuses! Check out shopDisney to bag all the merry clothing and accessories today.

Make Disney Christmas Cards

After you've turned your home into a Disney Yuletide shrine, you can spread your jolly inspiration by creating and posting Disney Christmas cards. Get your glitter, glue, and coloured markers ready to craft a very merry DIY card. Or, you can buy card templates on shopDisney, and add colour and decorations as you please. Who knows, you might even start a trend of tradition!
