Disney’s Hollywood Studios is opening up one of the most highly anticipated themed lands at the end of this month. Completely dedicated to one of the best kid’s movies to ever be made, Toy Story Land lets you play big with all your favourite Toy Story characters including Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the gang. Featuring new rides, dining options, shops and attractions, there’s no chance you’ll want to miss out on this fantastic new area.

So what exactly do we know about it?

Rides

Of course, a new land will obviously mean new rides! Heres whats confirmed so far, though there’s likely more to be added to the list. These should whet your appetite for the time being!
Slinky Dog Dash

Slinky Dog Dash is the centrepiece of the new land, a crazy-fast rollercoaster that’ll send you flying across the park. The coaster is made of huge toy blocks, making you feel like you’re a toy yourself. You’ll swerve around hills and drops as you sit between Slinky Dog’s coils.

Alien Swirling Saucers

Alien Swirling Saucers sees you hopping in a toy spacecraft and being jetted around the land by the aliens. If you know your stuff, you’ll notice these are the little green guys in the ‘claw’ machine in the first movie.

Toy Story Mania

Toy Story Mania lets you step into Andy’s room, where you can get involved in five unique virtual carnival games alongside the lovable toys. In the Hamm & Eggs game, you can knock down moving and stationary barnyard animal targets using hard-boiled eggs. Rex and Trixie’s Dino Darts lets you launch and pop balloons in front of a bubbling volcano. The Green Army Men Shoot Camp sees you throwing baseballs to break plates at the Army Men’s firing range. Buzz Lightyear’s Flying Tossers involves you throwing rings to land atop of Little Green Men. Woody’s Rootin’ Tootin’ Shootin’ Gallery lets you shoot suction-cup-tipped darts at a variety of mine-cart targets inspired by Woody’s TV show, “Woody’s Roundup”.

An Immersive Experience

Toy Story Land, much like other themed lands in Orlando like the Wizarding World of Harry Potter or Pandora: The World of Avatar, has a big focus on attention to detail. And there are several things that really create this impression.
You are a toy!

To start, the whole lands premise is to shrink you down to the size of a toy, by making the surroundings huge. Slinky Dog Dash is supported by giant bricks, Woodys Lunch Box is literally a large lunch box. Of course, other characters like Buzz, Woody and Jessie are walking around the park which also makes you feel like youre their size.

Characters

Obviously, you can expect to find all your favourite Toy Story friends in this land. Walt Disney World has pulled out the stops and made sure that to accompany this land, Buzz, Woody, Jessie and more will be roaming around the area. Though thats not all. Other characters will be lurking around in some way or another.

Dining

There are also some new dining options in town too. Woody’s Lunch Box is a walk-up window serving tasty eats & Treats. Indulge in some good food to break up your day at Toy Story Land, with great American fare, old-fashioned soda floats and other Toy Story specialities.

After a long three-year wait since it’s announcement in August 2015, the new Toy Story Land is finally set to open on the 30th of June. And it certainly lives up to expectation! It’s going to have holidaymakers flocking to Orlando for this fantastic new land, so book your place on a Walt Disney World holiday for your next family holiday.
