Whats the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Florida? Disney? The beach? To put it simply, the charming state has too many great things to count. We have however managed to put a list together of the top ten things to do in Florida...almost like a Florida bucket list.

If you were to only visit the state once, this list would be your itinerary, your go to list of things you need to see and do before you hop back on that plane home. It was hard to only create a list up to ten, we could of easily took it well into the hundreds! But we think weve done a pretty good job, if you only tick off one thing during your stay you wont be disappointed. Floridas like that, it always have something to surprise you with.

Visit the Everglades

Starting the bucket list off with a bang, the Everglades are the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States and a spectacle like no other. Right in the back garden of Miami, The Everglades offer numerous adventures to whet your appetite. Take a thrilling walk on the Anhinga Trail for some exciting wildlife spotting and then ascend up Shark Valleys 65-foot observation tower for an amazing birds eye view of the whole glades. Thats not even half of it, you can take a tour boat or kayak along the glades and if youre lucky you can catch a glimpse of a wild crocodile, manatee or dolphin in their natural habitat.  Dont worry though, theres no place safer than the Everglades, every precaution has been taken to make it as enjoyable and as fun as it should be.

Take a trip to Busch Gardens

One of the most popular attractions in all of Tampa, Busch Gardens mixes a faultless blend of thrilling attractions with an essence of Africa perfectly and carries the vibrant atmosphere throughout the whole park.  Dive head first into jaw-dropping safari tours, ride some crazy roller coasters (Cheetah is our favourite) and see exotic animals populated throughout the park at every turn. The rides are the real deal here and one in particular (Falcons Fury) stands 335 ft in the air and plummets you in a 5 second free fall to the floor. We advise holding on to your hat, dont even be ashamed for not giving it a try, weve seen grown men pluck all sorts of excuses from thin air as to why they cant ride it.

Walk along Miami Beach

Head to Miami and bury your feet in the soft sands of the famous Miami Beach. Featuring an historic Art District with golden sand stretching as far as the eye can see, take a stroll along one of the most visited beaches in the world. Featured in dozens of popular films and television shows, take the lead role and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of this historic place. The fabulous buildings along Ocean Drive feature a collection of colourful hotels and restaurants that are forever welcoming and offer incredible views across the sun-soaked beach. Youll be mad not to visit here at least once in your life.

Marvel at Dry Tortugas National Park

If youre looking for a taste of delicious paradise look no further than the picturesque Dry Tortugas National Park. This beautiful reef island is flawless and is home to Fort Jefferson, an amazing complex built by the US Government way back in the 1800s. We recommend taking a tour around the whole fort and then taking a relaxing break along the beautiful beaches, were you can snorkeling in the crystal clear waters or enjoy a well deserved picnic. soaking up the glorious rays. If you love your sun hot, your sand soft and your water transparent, youll never want to leave.

Become awe-inspired by Walt Disney World

Some would say this is Floridas main attraction and it would be hard to disagree. Not just for kids and families,  Walt Disney World produces magic for all ages. Those who grew up watching Disney films can marvel at the authenticity and vastness of the parks and kingdoms. Millions visit Walt Disney World year after year and always come back for more. We highly recommend Magic Kingdom...theres literally no place like it on earth.

Go beyond the stars at the Kennedy Space Centre

Known for being the worlds most authentic space attraction, the Kennedy Space Centre is the greatest space adventure you can have with both feet firmly on the ground. Walk around the largest rocket ever flown and touch an actual moon rock. If that wasnt enough you can meet a veteran NASA astronaut and have all your questions answered from a professional with unparalleled experience!

Travel across The Seven Mile Bridge

One of the most iconic bridges in Florida, The Seven Mile Bridge stretches across the vast open sea, connecting Knights Key in the Middle Keys to Little Duck Key in the Lower Keys. Contrary to popular belief, the bridge actually consists of two bridges in the same location and you should definitely take a journey across both...why not? The scenery is epic and theres no better place for a stroll in the Florida sunshine.

See the spectacular at SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld has been a key player in bringing tourism to Florida for many years, much like Walt Disney World. The years have been kind to SeaWorld and it still stands as one of the must see attractions in all of Florida. The huge amusement park features only the best dolphin and whale shows and gives guests the opportunity to get up close and personal with the marine life. There newest attraction will also let you meet Elmo and all the gang as Sesame Street is bought to life. Thats not all, the park has incredible roller coasters, including the Manta, were you spin, glide and skim across the whole park attached to a giant manta ray. In terms of thrills at high speed, we couldnt recommend a better roller coaster to go on.

Take in the thrills at Universal Studios

Universal Studios is what really gets people excited about Florida, catered literally for all ages, this enormous theme park delivers the best in entertainment and thrills and reaches beyond your wildest imagination.  Universal Studios offers all kinds of rides and experiences based on television shows and movies, theres sections dedication entirely to Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, The Simpsons and even Dr Seuss! If youre not the type for crazy rides theres always live music and shows taking place. Theres amazing on-site hotels and incredible bars and clubs to wonder through during the night. We seriously recommend The Amazing Spider-Man and The Transformers simulator rides, they are literally out of this world.

Catch a race at Daytona 500

You dont have to be a petrol-head to appreciate The Daytona 500 Nascar race. Its one of the most famous races and cup series in all of America and delivers thrills and drama at every turn. Held in Daytona Beach at the Daytona International Speedway, the race rakes in enormous crowds every year and never falters on entertainment.
