Can you smell that? No, not the Disney World candy floss… That’s love in the air, a smell especially potent in the Sunshine State around this time of year. Valentine’s Day is coming, and if you’re holidaying in Florida during the 14th of February then you’ll be pleased to hear that the area’s not all about theme parks, Mickey Mouse and NASCAR racing.

Romance is oozing out of every corner of Florida. From the Panhandle to the Keys, you’ll see Cupid’s arrows flying all over the place, as you can take up an array of phenomenal activities that are sure to pull on your better half’s heartstrings.

Here are just a few ideas to get you thinking about how you could wine and dine on your next Florida Holiday….

If you’re in Clearwater then you’ll want to head beachside to Pier 60. Only one day shy of every day of the year, a party is hosted two hours either side of the glorious sunset from Pier 60’s brilliant vantage point. Between 4 pm – 8 pm, you lovebirds can enjoy the sound of live music, street performers, local artisans, and of course, the incredible sunset.

Watch fireworks at Epcot

What better way to round off a day enjoying Walt Disney World is there other than catching the fireworks at Epcot? Of a night, catch various shows involving fireworks and pyrotechnics including ‘The Story of Earth’, ‘Made with Magic’ and ‘Know Before You Go’. Watch spectacular shows hosted every night on the World Showcase Lagoon, and marvel at the fantastic glitter-addled explosions as you share kisses and hugs with your loved ones… it’s bound to send sparks flying.

Road trip across the Keys

Ever dreamed of just hopping in a car and seeing where you end up? Well, you can when you book a fly-drive and head to the Keys area, as the Intercoastal Waterway will give you just over 300,000 miles of off-shore motorway which passes through a load of intimate islands for you to stop off and explore. These islands are gorgeous, with a huge Caribbean influence that’ll give you a different taste of Florida while enjoying vast views of the Atlantic Ocean. It’ll be a milestone in your relationship when you pull up with your loved one at South Pointe Buoy, the southernmost point in America. So, make sure you hit the road this Valentine’s with your partner.

Swim with Dolphins

Young hearts, run free with an amazing trip to one of the many sea-life centres across Florida. Having a swim with this lot is an experience in itself, but sharing that with your partner?... simply priceless. Meet nautical friends at parks like Discovery Cove and enjoy quality time with your soul-mate and new-found pals. Remember to book your tickets early, it makes for a truly romantic surprise on the day!

But what if I’m single!?

Well fear not, as those visiting Florida on the solo aren’t destined to be #ForeverAlone. There are masses to do over here, so you single-pringles should get ready to mingle.

Across the state are an array of wild parties happening around this time, including Orlando’s Valentine’s Matchmaker Party, Miami’s WYNCARIB #1 Caribbean Event, and the Fort Lauderdale Greek Festival. Those visiting the west-side of the Panhandle are in close distance to the infamous Mardi Gras festival starting on the 13th too, and the ladies are bound to love Orlando’s Fifty Shades The Live Show Ladies Night Male Revue. So don’t worry too much if you’ve not got someone to share your Florida experience with, as there’s plenty of Valentine’s shenanigans to get up to no matter whether you’re holidaying single, or with your baby, darling, doll-face, and/ or honey.
