Over the past two years, the team at Ocean Holidays has developed an important relationship with Haven House. We’ve visited the hospice, educated our staff on the great work they do and have organised a series of fundraising events to support financially. When we discovered that the charity was set to face financially difficulties as a direct result of Covid-19, we knew we wanted to help.
We got out thinking caps on and came up with a series of ideas and initiatives where we could reach out to our customers, leverage our contacts across the industry and empower our staff to go out and raise money for this incredible cause. Take a read about some of our fundraising efforts below

We wanted to do something fun for our customers and thought, what better than a prize draw? Our partners and friends across the industry came up trumps, donating some incredible prizes to add to the mix. Prizes include a designer throw, a Disney hamper, signed Mark Noble shirt, an overnight Stay at Champneys Spa, and of course a week’s stay in Florida villa

As well as putting together this incredible prize draw, our teams have been a hard at work raising money. So far, we’ve put on a company quiz night which brought in over £1000. We’ve also had staff members carry out fundraising activities of their own such as quarantine haircuts, squat challenges, walking commitments and even Friday night virtual DJ sets.

Haven House supports families looking after children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. The charity’s services, both residential and in the community, include play activities, therapies, support groups, respite and end-of-life care across North and North East London, West Essex and East Hertfordshire.
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit fundraising particularly hard. With thousands of events cancelled and many traditional fundraising initiatives no longer possible, charities are facing a financial loss which could be detrimental to the services they provide. Haven House Children Hospice is facing the prospect of losing £500,000.

Lastly, we just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported or donated towards our fundraising efforts for far. Were proud to share that weve already raised over £4000, and that number continues to grow daily. Thanks again, from everyone at Ocean Holidays.
