From reimagined rides to new restaurants, Disney is adding even more magic to its Florida theme parks for 2025. And there are some great early booking offers to snap up and save. Here, we give you the lowdown on what to expect from your 2025 Walt Disney World break…
The Return of Free Drinks & Dining
Yes, you heard us right. Free Drinks & Dining is back for 2025.
This Early Booking Offer means you can eat and drink at over 90 venues for Disney Quick-Service Dining Plans, or over 170 venues for Disney Dining Plans. And they’re spread out over all the Disney Resort hotels, theme parks, water parks, Disney Springs, and Disney’s Boardwalk – so you really can get your fill just about anywhere.
Our top tip? Plan ahead and book your preferred restaurants as early as possible. The My Disney Experience App lets you book up to 60 days in advance. Walt Disney World restaurants are notorious for getting booked up, so book early to avoid disappointment.
If you haven't secured Free Drinks & Dining for 2025, there is always next year! Watch this space for Disney's new Early Booking Offer, coming this spring.
New Attractions
Test Track 3.0
EPCOT’s hugely popular Test Track will be closing in June 2024, in preparation for a revamp. There’s not much detail on what the reimagining will involve. All we know is that Chevrolet is on board and looking to take inspiration from the original World of Motion ride, which took guests on a journey through the history of transport. The scheduled opening date is late summer 2025.
Zootopia Tree of Life Show
A new animated Zootopia-themed theatre show will be replacing It’s Tough to Be a Bug, in Animal Kingdom. The 4D show, based in the Tree of Life theatre, is expected to open by winter 2025.
Pirates of the Caribbean tavern
Ahoy, me hearties – a new pirate-themed tavern is coming to Adventureland soon. The tavern, near the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, is likely to be similar to Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, except with a sprinkling of swashbuckling. There’s no confirmed opening date for the new immersive dining experience, but we’re hedging our bets on late 2025.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened on 28th June 2024, so it will still be nice and sparkly for 2025. The eagerly anticipated ride, which is replacing Splash Mountain, will feature new story elements from the animated film, The Princess and the Frog. But you can still expect to get just as wet as before.
Tropical Americas
Indiana Jones and Encanto fans, step this way. Disney has been teasing an expansion of the current Dino-Rama site for a while now. We still haven’t got all the details, but we do know it’ll be called Tropical Americas and themed around that region. Encanto, Indiana Jones and Coco are just some of the concepts being thrown around. Construction is set to begin this autumn, so it won't be ready in time for 2025 trips, but it is one to keep on your radar, with the land expected to open in 2027.
Resort News
Free water park tickets for Disney Resort guests
When you stay at a Disney Resort Hotel, you always get some good perks – like early entry to the park before everyone else. But for 2025, Disney is throwing in free tickets to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach water parks. The tickets are only valid for the day you check in, but is there anything better than cooling off in the water park after a long flight?
And don’t forget…
Disney has dropped most park reservations and welcomed back all-day park hopping from 2024. You don’t have to reserve your park visit anymore, if you’ve got date-based tickets – which includes single-day and multi-day tickets. What’s more, all-day park hopping is back, for the first time since the pandemic. Guests using a Park Hopper ticket can now visit another Disney theme park at any time during park hours, rather than waiting until after 2pm.
Get ahead of the crowd and book your Walt Disney World holiday today.
