The main theatre on Norwegian Gem puts on Broadway-style shows that are easy to settle into and enjoy. You’ll see full productions with strong choreography, impressive sets, and a cast that really knows how to work a stage. The shows range from musical highlights to themed performances and tribute acts, so there’s usually something familiar and fun in the mix. It’s a relaxed, sit-back-and-enjoy kind of evening.

These are interactive shows where guests can actually get involved, not just watch. Deal or No Deal is the main one, and it’s set up just like the TV version. People from the audience get picked to play, and everyone else gets caught up in the game and the reactions. It’s loud, a bit chaotic, and usually ends up being one of those unexpectedly fun nights.

At night, Bliss Ultra Lounge becomes one of the liveliest spots on the ship. The lighting, music, and DJ give it a proper nightclub feel, and it fills up quickly once people are ready to dance or just hang out with a drink. There are sometimes themed nights too, which keeps things from feeling repetitive.

The pool deck is where most people drift during the day. Some stretch out on loungers, others swim or sit in the whirlpools. There’s usually music playing and a bit of activity happening, but it never feels forced. You can take it easy or stay in the middle of it, depending on your mood.

The Mandara Spa feels like a calm little world of its own. It’s the perfect place to switch off and recharge, with soothing massages, refreshing facials, and indulgent body treatments designed to melt stress away. The thermal suite, with its saunas, steam rooms, and warm loungers, makes it even easier to slip into full relaxation mode and forget the rest of the world for a while.

Vibe Beach Club is an adults-only area that stays noticeably calmer than the main pool deck. There are fewer people, better loungers, and a small bar nearby, so you don’t have to go far. It’s not overly complicated, just a quieter space to sit outside, read, nap, or look out at the sea without much going on around you.

The casino runs mostly in the evenings and on sea days. It has the usual mix of slots, blackjack, roulette, and poker tables, and it tends to get busier later at night. Some people stay for a quick game, others make a night of it. It’s lively without feeling over-the-top.

Younger guests have their own special place to explore and have fun, with supervised clubs designed just for them. From Splash Academy for kids to Entourage for teens, there’s a great mix of games, creative activities, and social hangouts. It’s a space where they can make friends, try new things, and enjoy their own adventure, while parents get a chance to relax, knowing everyone’s happily entertained.

Moderno Churrascaria is a lively Brazilian-style steakhouse where the meal feels like part dining, part experience. You start at a generous salad bar with fresh vegetables, cheeses, cured meats, and a mix of Brazilian sides. Then the servers come around with skewers of grilled meats, carving slices straight onto your plate as you go. 

Cagney’s is the ship’s classic American steakhouse, and it leans into that in a good way. Think well-cooked steaks like ribeye, filet mignon, or New York strip, served with the usual sides like truffle fries, creamed spinach, and baked potatoes. There’s also seafood on the menu if you’re not in a steak mood, plus rich desserts to finish. 

La Cucina is an easygoing Italian spot with a menu full of familiar favourites. You’ll find fresh pasta dishes, wood-fired pizzas, and classics like lasagna, seafood risotto, and osso buco. It’s the kind of place where the food is comforting rather than fussy. The setting is relaxed, too, making it a good option for families or anyone looking for a simple, satisfying meal.

Le Bistro is quieter and a bit more intimate, with a French bistro feel that suits a slower-paced dinner. The menu includes traditional dishes like escargot, duck a l’orange, coq au vin, and well-prepared steaks, all served in a more refined manner. It’s not overly formal, but it's more suited to a relaxed evening, a date night, or just wanting something a little special.

Inside Staterooms are the most budget-friendly option, keeping things simple and comfortable. There are no windows, so it’s a good choice if you don’t mind being disconnected from the outside view and plan to spend most of your time around the ship. The space is compact but well laid out, with two beds that can be turned into a queen, a small sitting area, a TV, storage, and a private bathroom with a shower. 

Oceanview Staterooms give you that bit of extra connection to the sea with a window or porthole. The window doesn’t open, but it does bring in natural light and a constant view of the ocean, which makes the room feel more open and relaxed. The layout is similar to inside cabins, just with a slightly airier feel thanks to the light. It’s a good middle ground if you want something affordable but still enjoy waking up to the sea outside.

Balcony staterooms are where things start to feel a bit more special. Along with a comfortable indoor space, you get your own private balcony with chairs and uninterrupted ocean views. It’s a simple thing, but having that outdoor space changes the experience and becomes part of the routine. 

Suites are the most spacious and comfortable option on board, with a clear step up in both space and service. You’ll find larger living areas, upgraded bathrooms, and, in many cases, big balconies. Some suites are part of The Haven, which is a more private area of the ship with its own restaurant, pool, and sun deck. Guests there also get extra perks like priority boarding, concierge service, and, in some cases, butler-style assistance.
