Measuring a spacious 356 square feet, Standard Rooms come with a king bed or two queen beds and include essentials like a flat-screen TV, mini-refrigerator, coffee maker, and a marble-accented bathroom. Each room also has a private balcony, usually overlooking the resort or island rather than the ocean. It’s a simple, comfortable base with access to everything the property offers.

Located on higher floors than the Standard Rooms, Ocean View Rooms offer a more scenic stay, with partial or direct views of the Gulf of Mexico. The layout is similar to Standard Rooms and includes the same standard amenities, but the real upgrade is stepping out onto your balcony and taking in the water view. 

VIP Level Rooms sit a step above the standard categories, often located on the hotel’s top two floors for better views and added privacy. Perks of these rooms include keycard elevator access, light continental breakfast (Saturday & Sunday mornings), afternoon snacks, sweets and water served in the hotel’s lobby. 

The resort’s most exclusive option requires a special keycard to access the adult-only 10th floor. You’ll also have access to a private Club Ten Lounge, where you can enjoy breakfast, snacks, and drinks throughout the day. There’s also a more personalised level of service and concierge support. Many of these rooms also come with excellent Gulf views.

Popular for their extra 50 to 60 square feet of space and wide-open feel, Corner Rooms receive more natural light and often feature sweeping views in two directions. They feel brighter and more spacious than standard rooms, making them a good pick if you want something a bit more open without moving into a suite.

If you’re in the mood for Italian food that feels both comforting and a little special, Grotto is an easy choice. It’s the resort’s Italian dining spot, inspired by traditional Southern Italian trattorias. The menu focuses on house-made pastas, fresh seafood, and classic recipes, featuring dishes such as veal, snapper, and signature pasta plates.

When only a classic steak dinner will do, The Steakhouse is where the resort leans fully into upscale dining. This is the property’s signature fine dining restaurant, built around premium steaks, fresh seafood like lobster, and a well-curated wine list. 

When convenience matters just as much as comfort, Blake’s Bistro is the kind of place you end up returning to more than once. Open all day, it covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a broad menu that includes burgers, sandwiches, salads, Tex-Mex-inspired dishes, and a well-loved breakfast buffet. 

If there’s one place that really captures the resort’s relaxed energy, it’s The Cove. This is the main pool area at The San Luis Resort, and it’s designed like a tropical escape in the middle of Galveston. For a more private experience, cabanas are available with lounge seating, TVs, mini-fridges, and dedicated poolside service.

If you’re looking to slow things down completely, Spa San Luis is where the resort shifts into full relaxation mode. The spa focuses on wellness and restoration, offering a wide range of treatments, including massages, facials, body wraps, scrubs, and hydrotherapy.
