The Canal Street Historic Downtown District is the cultural hub of New Smyrna Beach. Blending small-town charm with loads to do for visitors, the pedestrian-friendly, tree-lined streets are crammed with lovely parks, historic buildings, speciality shops, fine dining, art galleries and more. There are plenty of cultural attractions here too, including the award-winning New Smyrna Beach Museum of History.
Art-lovers should head here on the first Saturday of every month for the Gallery Walk on Canal and Douglas Streets. Running from 4 – 8pm, this is run in conjunction with the Atlantic Center for the Arts Harris House, The Clay Gallery, Mosquito Mud Pottery Gallery and Arts on Douglas Gallery.
On the second Saturday of every month is Cruise Night on Canal Street. Cosponsored with East Coast Cruisers, this 4 hour event shows off tons of antique and muscle cars and provides fantastic food and entertainment for the whole family.
