It’s time to mark the calendars and begin to dream. As we close in on one year until the 2026 FIFA World Cup, let’s get acquainted with the three host nations, the sixteen cities, and their respective stadiums - including stats and info that will help you plan your World Cup travel itineraries… 


Toronto Stadium, Toronto, Ontario, Canada 

Capacity: 45,000 
Games hosted: 6  
Dates: 12th, 17th, 20th, 23rd & 26th June, & 2nd July  

The BMO Field stadium holds a special place in Canadians’ hearts, being the spot where the men’s national team broke their thirty-six-year absence from the World Cup, cementing their place as a qualifier for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. In the heart of Toronto, this stadium is home to Toronto FC and the Canadian national squad, the Toronto Argonauts. 

This amazing city has it all: lofty skyscrapers, leafy parks, world-class museums, and an exciting culinary scene to dive into! 


BC Place Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

No stranger to major sporting competitions, BC Place has previously played host as the main venue for the 2010 Winter Olympics and is home to the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS and the Canadian Football League’s BC Lions. Set on the banks of the north side of the False Creek inlet, this first-class venue has the world’s largest retractable roof and an array of state-of-the-art features, setting the atmosphere for epic matches in the British Columbian sunshine.  

Surrounded by a beautiful coastal city with a rich and diverse culture, BC Place serves as a landmark in Vancouver’s skyline. Watching a game in one of the stadiums where both Diego Maradona and Pelé played—and won the World Cup—is reason enough to come to Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca. This emblematic venue is a giant in footballing lore and hosted these legendary World Cup Finals in both 1970 and 1986 respectively, so there’s much history packed into these impressive walls. 

Mexico City is the beating heart of this football-loving country, and this vibrant metropolis manages to blend a fascinating mix of ancient historical sites and thought-provoking museums amid a modern culture, providing endless opportunities to explore.

Mexico’s second-largest city, Guadalajara, is home to the Estadio Akron, which sits on the edge of the beautiful La Primavera Forest (Bosque de la Primavera) and national park. Estadio Monterrey, Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

Nicknamed "El Gigante de Acero" – the Steel Giant – the Estadio BBVA sits in Mexico’s industrial capital, Monterrey, located in the north of the country and translates as ‘King Mountain’ in Spanish, reflecting the surrounding mountainous landscape. Football is a huge part of the culture in Monterrey, and it is home to one of Mexico’s most significant teams and fan bases in the Liga MX, C.F. Monterrey. The stadium is equipped with compact energy solutions and low voltage equipment, making it the first football ground in the Americas to earn a silver accreditation from the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED). 

A visit to Monterrey affords lots of exploration of its stunning mountains, including Cerra de la Silla, whose highest peak offers amazing views over the modern urban cityscape below. Wander the streets and take in the sights of its intriguing street art and taste delightful northern Mexican cuisine for a few days of fun. 


Atlanta Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Atlanta’s huge Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the home of NFL team Atlanta Falcons and MLS side Atlanta United FC. This innovative, multi-purpose venue boasts world-beating sustainability methods around water, energy, and zero waste. The stadium has also partnered with local food programmes to distribute and donate unused food items and meals directly to the Westside Atlanta community.  

Atlanta is often considered the capital of culture, commerce, transportation, education, and sport in the American South. This flourishing football city regularly holds USA national team games and hopes to place itself on the global footballing map as a FIFA World Cup 2026 host. 

Atlanta is also home to the world’s busiest airport and provides a central hub for travelling all over the USA. Boston Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts, USA

Boston’s Gillette Stadium is where the NFL’s New England Patriots and the New England Revolution of the MLS play their home games. This huge sporting city has teams in all the major professional sports including American football, baseball, soccer, basketball, and ice hockey, which are always worth trying to get tickets for during your stay.  

Boston sits at the heart of modern American History and is the birthplace of the American Revolution. This cultural and historical city is also brimming with picturesque natural scenery, promising a fascinating trip and a wonderful stop on an East Coast adventure.  


Dallas Stadium, Arlington, Texas, USA

The AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas is the home of the famous Dallas Cowboys and is the largest arena in the NFL, and indeed the FIFA World Cup 2026. "The Death Star" as it is referred to locally, has hosted many major sporting events including the Super Bowl, making it well prepared to host nine epic football matches in this tournament. 

Dallas offers a wonderful example of Texan culture, with excellent food and spectacular landmarks including the 560ft Reunion Tower, the world-famous Pioneer Plaza, as well as Dealey Plaza and the Sixth Floor Museum for an insight into the assassination of JFK.  


Houston Stadium, Houston, Texas, USA 

Capacity: 72,000 
Games hosted: 7  
Dates: 14th, 17th, 20th, 23rd, 26th & 29th June, & 4th July 

Take a Texan road trip and enjoy the best in Southern hospitality, particularly in the city of Houston. Hosting seven FIFA World Cup 2026 games, the NRG Stadium was the first NFL venue to have a retractable roof and offers a world-class experience for sports, music, and live entertainment, even rodeos!  

Houston is an easy city to explore, with an impressive underground tunnel network for pedestrians that spans more than six miles. Otherwise known as ‘The Space City’, Houston is also known for its high standard of living and is home to NASA’s Johnson Space Center, loads of excellent museums, and gorgeous leafy parks to wander around. 


Kansas City Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri, USA

Famed for being the loudest stadium in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Arrowhead Stadium promises nothing short of an electric atmosphere at its six FIFA World Cup 2026 games. Also known as ‘The City of Fountains’—with more than 200 fountains dotted around the streets—Kansas City is full of midwestern charm and lends itself as a great jumping off point to explore American frontier history on the Oregon, California, and Santa Fe trails. 

This passionate footballing city has a history of successful professional football teams, as well as well-known teams in the NFL and MLB, and has hosted multiple FIFA World Cup qualifying matches as well as other major CONCACAF Gold Cups. 


Los Angeles Stadium, Inglewood, California, USA 

Capacity: 70,000

Dates: 12th, 15th, 18th, 21st, 25th & 28th June, & 2nd & 10th July 

Little introduction is needed to star-studded Los Angeles, a place entrenched in sporting prowess and the only US city with seven teams in the five major American sports leagues including two in the MLS – LA Galaxy and Los Angeles FC. The SoFi Stadium in Inglewood is located on the site of the former Hollywood Park racetrack and the proud home of the city’s two NFL teams: the Los Angeles Chargers and the Los Angeles Rams. This one-of-a-kind venue is the main attraction within a 298-acre mixed-use development area including shops, a hotel, and leafy outdoor spaces. 

West Coast California road trips aren’t complete without a visit to its most glamorous destination. The LA region boasts some of the best-known landmarks in the world, including the Santa Monica Pier, the Griffith Observatory and the Getty Center. The Hard Rock Stadium is set to host seven matches and is well versed in major tournaments and events as it’s the home of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. The Formula One Miami Grand Prix and the Miami Open also frequently take place here.  

Miami’s professional footballing history is brief, but it has recently become prominent on the world stage due to the rise of David Beckham’s Inter Miami, which represents the city in the MLS.  

Spend your in-between football days hanging out on the gorgeous South Beach, exploring the impressive Vizcaya Museum, and immersing yourself in the city’s melting pot of culture, cuisine, and art. 


New York/New Jersey Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA 

Capacity: 82,500

Where better to watch the FIFA World Cup 2026 than in the Big Apple? The large-capacity MetLife Stadium sits in New Jersey towards the west of Manhattan Island and will host eight games, including the coveted Final. It’s currently the home of both the NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets and regularly hosts some of the world’s biggest live music, sports and entertainment events. 

New York is an energetic metropolis known for its lofty skyscrapers, excellent museums, endless dining options, and diverse culture. Consider road-tripping between New York, Philadelphia and Boston on an East Coast adventure for an easy and fun way to get as much footballing action in as possible! 


Philadelphia Stadium, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA 

Capacity: 69,000

In a city steeped in history, Lincoln Financial Field is a relatively new stadium, holding its inaugural match between Manchester United and Barcelona in 2003, and later that year hosting the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Now it’s the home ground of the NFL team, Philadelphia Eagles. 

Philadelphia enjoys a century-old footballing history and was home to one of the earliest professional franchises in the country. This ‘City of Firsts’ also bore the USA’s first hospital, library, zoo, and university. Perfectly blending rich history into a modern cityscape, Philadelphia is the place where the United States Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776, and you won’t be able to visit without sampling its famous Philly cheesesteak! 


San Francisco Bay Area Stadium, Santa Clara, California, USA 

Capacity: 71,000

Tucked between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, the city of San Francisco enjoys a great climate and a vibrant cultural environment to explore on your World Cup journey. The Levi’s Stadium has hosted many official competitions such as the CONCACAF Gold Cup and the Copa America Centenario. Since the stadium’s opening in 2014 it’s been where the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers play their home games. 

The city is home to world-famous landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island, as well as a thriving cultural scene full of fabulous art, cuisine, and shopping. From here, head on a West Coast adventure up the Pacific Coast Highway, taking in breathtaking sights through Monterey, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles for a true summer road trip! 


Seattle Stadium, Seattle, Washington, USA

The large horseshoe-shaped stadium, Lumen Field, boasts views over the Seattle skyline and is the home ground of the Seattle Sounders (MLS), the Seattle Seahawks (NFL) and Seattle Reign FC of the NWSL. It’s also hosted the CONCACAF Gold Cup and Champions League matches and continues to be a world leader in sustainability and environmentally friendly practices. 

Seattle sits in Washington State up on the USA’s western coast and is one of the country’s greenest cities surrounded by much natural beauty. It boasts a diverse culinary scene and famous landmarks such as the Space Needle, where you can catch a breath in between games and enjoy gorgeous city and mountain views from the top.
