Florida offers visitors from around the world vast amounts to see and do, with roughly 1,200 miles of beautiful shoreline, more vibrant cities than you could imagine and thousands of miles of roads- a Fly Drive holiday is the best way to experience it all during your stay. Here we highlight our favourite routes across the magnificent Sunshine State, and the amazing cities, beaches and locations that are our must see’s in Florida.

Orlando & Kissimmee: Day 1 - 2


Orlando is the perfect destination to start your Fly Drive adventure. Coined the “capital city” for family entertainment, Orlando is home to more theme parks than anywhere else in the world. The ideal location for those thrill seekers, whether you are young, or just young at heart, there is something for all to enjoy!

Spend two days in Orlando exploring the world-class theme parks, make sure that you visit Walt Disney World - including the 6 major parks within, Seaworld and Universal Studios. International Drive is another of Orlando’s family favourite attractions, boasting a variety of activities and entertainment facilities - including the Orlando Eye.

If you’re looking for accommodation the Orlando area is comprised of six resorts that offer families great accommodation. Our favourites include the beautiful villas in Kissimmee and the magical resorts of Walt Disney World Resort.

Fort Lauderdale: Day 3


Fort Lauderdale

Take the drive down the stunning Atlantic Coast from Orlando, and just before you get to Miami you should make a stop at Fort Lauderdale. Home to the best family beaches in Florida, this beautiful seafront resort is a highly desirable spot to visit - with a beautiful network of canals, Florida’s largest mall, family-friendly beaches and plenty of unique activities including gondola rides - Fort Lauderdale has enjoyment to offer all.

Miami: Day 4- 5


Miami

Miami is a great city to stop off at during your Fly Drive adventure. Famous for its sunshine and high temperatures, Miami is the ideal spot for families seeking city living in the sunshine. Miami is a vibrant city filled with boutique hotels, restaurants, nightlife and attractions.

Miami Beach

Whilst you are exploring the city ensure that you head to Miami Beach to soak up the sun, or South Beach for a fun-filled family day out. Little Havana, Miami’s Cuban community, is a great spot to explore and to discover great Cuban food, history and music before you continue on your journey.

Florida Keys: Day 6 - 7


The Florida Keys are a 150-mile string of islands off the southern coast of Florida, coined ‘America’s Caribbean’ the Keys offer the chance to enjoy Florida’s tropical environment. Although it is a long scenic detour down to the Keys we promise you, the drive is worth it!

After the excitement of Miami and the long drive from Orlando, you’ll be in need of a well-deserved break. The Florida Keys are the perfect location to do just that, spend your days basking in the sunshine on the beautiful white sand beaches, frolicking in the turquoise waters or exploring the beautiful coral reefs.

Key West is the most popular of the islands, as well as being Florida’s most southern subtropical paradise. Activities to enjoy here include dolphin encounters, kayaking, boat trips, diving and snorkelling. It is the perfect location to lay back, relax and enjoy the sunshine with your loved ones.

Everglades: Day 8


Although it will be hard to leave the paradise of the Florida Keys, you have to look forward to the excitement of the Everglades. Head northwest past Miami and you’ll reach the US’s largest tropical wetlands, the Everglades National Park. Here is your chance to take a walk on the wild side and explore Florida’s natural beauty and World Heritage Site. It is the perfect location for those of you seeking adventure away from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks and cities.

For those who love the great outdoors, you’ll be in your element. Spend your time here hiking, kayaking or air boating through the wild marshes. It is your chance to get up close with birds, alligators, crocodiles and turtles - the perfect place to enjoy some quality action-packed time with your family and friends.

Naples: Day 9


Naples is a must see for your Fly Drive holiday itinerary. It has been given the title as the ‘finest town in Florida’ because of its world-class restaurants and spectacular beaches. During your visit embrace the atmosphere, explore the culture and indulge in the delicious food.

Fort Myers & Sanibel: Day 10-11


Continue your drive up the beautiful Gulf Coast and you’ll reach Fort Myers & Sanibel - the region is home to some of the state’s most beautiful beaches that are heaped with white sugar sand, sparkling turquoise waters and strewn with colourful seashells. The area captures the essence of authentic Floridian culture, natural wildlife and spacious beaches.

Sarasota & Bradenton: Day 12-13


Once you’ve finished exploring the beauty of the Fort Myers & Sanibel region continue your journey up the Gulf Coast to reach Sarasota and Bradenton. This region is a cultural and scenic gem. These beautiful coastal cities are blessed with stunning beaches and thriving arts and cultural scene.

In addition to the world-class beaches Sarasota and Bradenton offer visitors the chance to explore its beautiful architecture, art museums, aquariums and gardens. Spend your days roaming through galleries, studios, boutiques and streets. Take a trip to the Towles Court Artist Colony to experience the impressive arts scene, admire the Old Floridian style bungalows and art. The county has also been dubbed the “Home of the American Circus”, where the Ringling brothers brought the circus to life in 1927, the Ringling Estate is open to visitors all year round.

Tampa: Day 14


We know that it is hard to leave the beautifully unique region of Sarasota and Bradenton, and to accept that your All American Road Trip is coming to an end, however, your final stop is Tampa. This vibrant city is home to a whole host of attractions, theme parks, nightlife, pristine beaches and beautiful sights. It is the perfect location to end your Florida Fly Drive holiday.
