Universal Orlando Resort may be a thrill seeker’s paradise, but sandwiched between the rides are foodie adventures too. Whether you're wanting to scope out tasty vegan options or tuck into a meat feast, Universal's restaurants go beyond expectations with eclectic menus and themed restaurants that make the dining experience just as much about the people you share the moment with.

So for those who like their holidays rare, here's where to find the finest Universal Orlando Resort restaurants in 2023...

Best for Snacks

Sometimes you only want to eat something light before experiencing the heavy twists and turns of a rollercoaster. Thankfully,  these snack bars and fast food joints at Universal have you covered...

Fast Food Boulevard – Universal Studios Florida

Enter the world of the most famous cartoon family, The Simpsons, at Fast Food Boulevard. This Springfield-themed area is packed with quick bite options. Sample the famous Krusty Burger or pay a visit to Bumblebee Man’s Taco Truck. And when you’ve satisfied those hunger pangs, be sure to head to Moe’s Tavern to wash it all down with a refreshing Duff beer in Barney's seat.

Voodoo Doughnut – Universal CityWalk

With over 50 types of doughnuts available, here your sweet tooth will truly be spoiled for choice. Do you dare to be different and go for the bacon maple bar; the perfect sweet and savoury concoction? Or perhaps the Voodoo Doll’s raspberry jam filling and pretzel stake are calling out your name?

Bambu Jungle Kitchen – Volcano Bay

Feel the tropical vibe in this bamboo-structured restaurant as you tuck into family favourites. Burgers, chicken tenders, and sandwiches are all on the menu here, making it a good option for larger parties.

Best for Snacks Best for Young Families

Most Universal Orlando Resort restaurants are extremely family-friendly, but some cater to lively little ones more than others. Here are just a few we recommend…

Green Eggs and Ham Café – Universal's Islands of Adventure

Enter Sam-I-Am’s world at the Green Eggs and Ham Café. Kids will be buzzing to devour their very own Green Eggs and Ham Tots and maybe a little Who Hash also.

Mel’s Drive in – Universal Studios Florida

One of the funkiest Universal Orlando Resort restaurants has to be Mel’s Drive In. Step back in time to the 1950s in this American-style diner. Decked out with jukeboxes and vintage cars outside, it also serves up an impressive selection of burgers and shakes.

Thunder Fall’s Terrace – Universal's Islands of Adventure

Sink your teeth into a selection of barbecue ribs, rotisserie chicken, and smoked turkey legs while you watch daring riders get drenched on the nearby Jurassic Park River Adventure.

Best for Date Nights

Fall in love with the following restaurant and keep the romance alive on your 2023 holiday...

VIVO Italian Kitchen – Universal CityWalk

VIVO Italian Kitchen is regarded by many as one of the best restaurants in Universal Orlando Resort. Its elegant vibe and exquisite menu of Italian classics make it the perfect setting for some starry-eyed dining.

Bigfire – Universal CityWalk

Watch your steaks and freshwater cuisine get the open fire treatment right before your very eyes. Bigfire’s giant custom-made grill is certainly a talking point at this one, but it’s by far not the only one. Choose from an extensive selection of whiskeys and bourbons, or roast s’mores from the comfort of your own table. All this and more make it one of the best Universal Orlando Resort restaurants for date night.

Best for American Grill

Delve into the greatest burgers in town. And why not make it a double stack?

Hard Rock Café – Universal CityWalk

The Legendary Burger may take centre stage here, but there’s also plenty more on offer. Universal’s Hard Rock Café is the largest in the world and offers a broad selection of grub, from nachos topped with ranch-style beans and a four-cheese sauce to plant-based burgers and deliciously sweet desserts.

Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville – Universal CityWalk

Soak up the island vibes here as you chomp down on Margaritaville’s famed Cheeseburger in Paradise. Or maybe some grilled fish tacos will hit the spot. This casual American bar & grill even offers live music while you dine.

Best Themed Restaurants

Fancy retracing the steps of Harry Potter or devouring a Willy Wonka-style creation? These restaurants prove mealtimes can be just as entertaining as the rides…

The Three Broomsticks – Universal's Islands of Adventure

Calling all Harry Potter fans, The Three Broomsticks awaits! Step inside the rustic tavern of Hogsmeade and treat yourself to some tasty British fare. An ideal option for families is The Great Feast. This serves four and includes chicken, corn on the cob, potatoes, and ribs. And of course, you simply cannot leave The Three Broomsticks without gulping down one of the famous Butterbeers or Gillywaters.

The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen – Universal CityWalk

Themed restaurants don’t come much more tantalizing than this one. Styled as a 19th-century steampunk factory, The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen features an array of weird and wonderful creations. We recommend giving the chocolate stout chicken wings and chocolate gnocchi a try if you’re feeling adventurous.

Best for Vegetarians and Vegans

Hot dogs and burgers may rule the roost at theme parks. But fear not, these restaurants have your back…

The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar – Universal CityWalk

One of the best Universal Orlando Resort restaurants for vegetarians is definitely The Cowfish. Take your pick from the shitake mushroom-based Tree Hugger roll, The Heavenly Veggie Burger, or the Goat in the Garden salad, complete with fresh strawberries and Asian pears. Yum!

TODAY Café – Universal Studios Florida

The TODAY Café offers a fantastic menu of meat-free options. You will find everything from overnight oats served for breakfast to vegan sandwiches and scrumptious salad options come lunchtime. And, inspired by NBC’s long-running morning show, Today, the setting is one to marvel at too.

Mythos Restaurant – Universal's Islands of Adventure

Voted the 'World's Best Theme Park Restaurant', Universal Orlando Resort restaurants don’t come much more hyped than this one – and deservedly so. Mythos Restaurant boasts top-notch food in an awe-inspiring cave like setting, featuring carved ancient figures and cascading waterfalls. There are several vegetarian and vegan options, including a rich spinach and garlic ravioli, as well as a tofu-based pad Thai.
