One of the best things about Las Vegas is the freedom to go all-in on your style, where you can embrace bold, glitzy looks that shine from fun daytime adventures to sophisticated late-night events. Equally, you can opt for a more casual approach, whether it’s a bikini by the pool or a t-shirt and shorts for outdoor activities – the only restrictions are the weather!

Let us guide you through the fashion dos and don’ts for your next trip to Sin City, ensuring that you’re well-prepared to fit in and stand out!

Seasonal Considerations

Many first-time visitors to Las Vegas are surprised to learn that it’s not actually hot all year round. As the city is situated in the desert, it can get very chilly in the winter months (particularly at night) and very hot in the summer during the day, so preparation and sensible packing for the time of year will prove essential.

Winter

For the colder months like December and January, you’ll need plenty of jumpers, light jackets, and jeans, especially in the evenings if you’re hitting up rooftop bars or walking between resorts and attractions under the glow of neon lights. Winter days feel pleasantly cool, hovering around 14–16°C, but once the sun sets, temperatures can drop sharply to around 2°C, so it’s worth layering up for the evening.

Summer

June, July, and August can be scorching in the desert, where average daily temperatures reach between 38-41°C with relentless sunshine, a dry heat, and low humidity. Fortunately, almost every hotel, casino, and restaurant will have top-notch air conditioning to help you cope with the heat.

Attraction Considerations

What you plan to do in Las Vegas will also have an impact on what you pack in your suitcase. It’s not all about the nightlife here, and there is a world of outdoor fun to be had in and around the city, including nature escapes, luxury shopping along The Strip, and even riding roller coasters.

When the sun goes down, the nightclubs, shows, and fine dining restaurants take centre stage, and allow you to embrace your glamorous side.

Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam & Grand Canyon

  • Leisure and activewear are essential, including shorts, leggings, and breathable tops
  • Good quality trainers or sturdy hiking shoes
  • Hats and sunscreen
  • Light jackets for chilly early morning adventures

General Sightseeing Along The Strip

  • Lightweight clothing made of linen and cotton, such as t-shirts, tank tops, shorts, and skirts
  • Comfy trainers or sandals
  • Sunglasses and hats
  • A small bum bag (or fanny pack if you want to get in the American mood), crossbody, or rucksack for carrying bottles of water, phones, purses, and sunscreen

Shopping, Museums & Art Galleries

  • Smart-casual clothing, including matching sets, nice tops, and trousers or shorts
  • Comfortable but stylish shoes
  • A good-sized tote bag for purchases

Poolside Partying

  • Swimwear and a cover-up
  • Slides or flip flops
  • Statement sunglasses or hat
  • Bathrobe (usually provided by the hotel)

Daytime Shows & Nice Lunches Out

  • Casual chic
  • Midi dresses, tailored shorts and shirts, or a smart co-ord
  • Trainers, loafers or low heels

Clubs & Bars at Night

Many bars, clubs, and restaurants in Las Vegas adopt a strict dress code, so ensure that you’re appropriately dressed before you head out for the evening.
  • Stay stylish and polished with smart, good-quality outfits
  • Mini, midi, or maxi dresses with heels or dressy sandals
  • Statement accessories, nice jewellery, and considered hair and make-up
  • Smart jeans, chinos, and shirts (long- or short-sleeved should be fine)
  • Dress shoes or upscale trainers

Fashion Trends for 2026

Sunglasses

A decent pair of sunnies is a staple for any holiday, especially in Las Vegas, which boasts around 300 days of sunshine each year! The classic styles never go out of fashion, and this year you won’t go wrong with a pair of oversized aviators, chic rectangular frames, or sporty wayfarers to lift your daytime Vegas style and stay firmly on trend.

Bold Colour

In Las Vegas, you can play around with bold clothing and accessories – the bigger and brighter the better! From high-rolling three-piece suits in the casinos and elegant flowing dresses in fine dining establishments to glitzy swimwear by the pool and oversized hats on sunny walks along The Strip, don’t shy away from vibrant colours, patterns, and prints to stand out from the crowd.

Sporty Fashion

This year, you may have noticed a resurgence of athleisure and sportswear, such as vintage windbreaker bomber jackets, utility detailing on trousers, and retro-style trainers. All of these will serve you well on your more casual days out and about, plus they’ll work for both cooler and warmer weather.

Day-to-Night Versatility

Las Vegas getaways tend to be for quick 4- or 5-day stints, so you won’t need to lug around a huge suitcase if you pack smartly. Plans can shift quickly from poolside relaxation to hedonistic fun, so consider putting together easy, transitional outfits that will work during the day and can be elevated at night. Think layering-friendly options for indoor and outdoor activities in all weather conditions, and simple pieces that can be dressed up or down, depending on your agenda.

Las Vegas is a destination of contrasts—sun-soaked summer days call for breezy, comfortable outfits as you explore, shop, or lounge by the pool, and evenings transform into a dress-to-impress playground of glitzy clubs, shows, and world-class dining. It’s a place where your wardrobe needs to keep up, staying relaxed and practical by day, and bold and polished by night.
