When it comes to thrills, it’s usually Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and SeaWorld that get all the glory. Yet just a stone’s throw away is another mecca of delights - International Drive. This vibrant stretch is not just home to shopping, dining, and entertainment—it’s also packed with adrenaline-pumping attractions that will have thrill-seekers lining up for more. From sky-high swings to catapult-style rides, here’s your guide to the best thrills International Drive has to offer…

The StarFlyer at ICON Park

The StarFlyer made a grand entrance at ICON Park in 2018 and is wowing visitors day in and day out. Proudly standing at 450 feet, hence owning the title of the world’s tallest swing ride attraction, it sends guests on a wild rotation around the tower at speeds of up to 45mph. While it’s not one for the faint hearted, there’s no age limit on this ride, just a minimum height of 44 inches.

However, safety remains a top priority, and you will be buckled in tight with a seatbelt and leg harness. Plus, with double seating, it means you can buddy up with a trusted companion just in case you need to give their hand a little (or large) squeeze.

If you want to sit this one out, you can still enjoy watching all the thrills from the adjacent Star Bar, admiring the brave while sipping on a signature cocktails.

The Slingshot

Calling all adrenaline junkies, The Slingshot will have the heart racing in no time. This top attraction catapults guests 450-feet in the air reaching speeds of 0-100mph in just two seconds. And that’s only the beginning — prepare for a stomach dropping game of lift and plunge.

Open since 2021, this ride is not afraid to compete with the likes of the nearby Walt Disney World and Universal Resort’s rides. Designed for two riders, the attraction also provides an exhilarating adventure with breathtaking views of the Orlando skyline. The Slingshot is notable for being the tallest of its kind in the world. So, although your voice may be gone from all the screaming, you’ll definitely earn yourself some bragging points for braving this one.

Andretti Orlando

Buckle up and prepare to put the pedal to the metal. Andretti Indoor Karting and Games lets guests travel in high-speed electric karts around a neon lit racetrack of twists and turns.

Plus, it even has Mini Mario Karts for drivers four to seven years old. Although, while go karting is its main attraction, there is far more on offer than that. You can enjoy a 7D experience where you’ll actually feel the earth move beneath you or choose to step into a world of virtual reality with the four player Hologate. And if you’re not quite ready to pack it in for the night, why not enjoy a family game of bowling or a trip to the arcade for the latest video games or classic favourites to round things off?

Andretti also offers large scale private party rooms. Just something to keep in mind if someone’s special day is coming up.

Dezerland Park

Can’t quite decide on an activity to satisfy the whole family? Dezerland Park is here to settle your squabbles. Florida’s largest indoor attraction has over 20 attractions on offer.

We love striking it lucky at the bowling alley or teeing up for glow in the dark mini golf. But you can also browse over 2,000 cars, including Back to the Future’s iconic DeLorean, or focus on your aim at laser quest and The Brass Axe & Darts. Other things on offer include Pinball Palace and arcades.

And if you want to refuel, you will find a variety of dining options at the Food Hall. We recommend the suave 007 Bond Lounge, which even features classic Bond cocktails. Or you may want to satisfy your sweet tooth at Glida, the self-serve ice cream shop where you can choose from a wide range of flavours and delicious toppings.

P.S. If you’re looking for some saving tips, you can choose from several passes that allow for a variety of attraction combinations.

Helicopter Tours - Take to the Sky

If you’re looking for the thrill of flight without screaming your lungs out, our top suggestion would be to glide through the Orlando skies in a breathtaking helicopter tour.

From one of several nearby helipads, you can take off and soar over theme parks, lakes, and city skylines. These tours sweep you into the sky for jaw-dropping aerial views of Orlando’s most iconic landmarks—like Universal Orlando Resort, ICON Park, and even the distant silhouette of Disney’s Cinderella Castle.

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just chasing a new perspective, these flights range from quicker loops to extended scenic journeys, including romantic sunset options. It’s a unique way to take in the skyline, snap incredible photos, and experience the city from a whole new altitude.

SkyCoaster at Fun Spot America

If you’ve ever wanted to skydive but haven’t quite managed it yet, here’s the next best thing. SkyCoaster allows groups of up to three people to take flight from 250 feet as you soar through the air experiencing all of our Orlando’s gems beneath you. This towering attraction is the second tallest SkyCoaster in the world and is accessible to all that meet the minimum height requirement of 42 inches.

And once you’ve regained your balance back on the ground, Fun Spot America has a range of classic carnival style joys to be had, from bumper cars to the Funhouse. In addition, for the little ones, the tea cup ride and kiddie swings are bound to keep the smiles coming.
