A holiday to Orlando is packed with nostalgia. The parks are filled with familiar franchises and icons cherished by generations. However, choosing which parks and attractions to visit first can be a conundrum for groups of all ages and interests.

One of the many reasons why SeaWorld Orlando is a favourite with families is its wide variety of rides and experiences that everyone can enjoy. With an excellent mix of gentle rides, big thrills, animal encounters, and water attractions, you're sure to find something your loved ones will adore…

Price differences for children at SeaWorld

Tickets for SeaWorld are split into adult and child tickets, with children aged 3–9 qualifying for child pricing. However, children under the age of 3 can enter the park for free, which makes SeaWorld an especially attractive option for families travelling with toddlers. You can also take advantage of several other money-saving packages, such as the Kids Free Package which offers free child admission with each paying adult.

Height restrictions at SeaWorld

SeaWorld is very accessible for families of all ages and sizes, however, there are a few thrill rides that the smaller ones will have to miss out on. The major coasters require minimum heights ranging from 48-54 inches, while rides like Journey to Atlantis require a minimum height of 42 inches. That being said, there’s still a wide selection of ride-free animal exhibits, shows and play areas, meaning younger children and non-riders won’t miss out.

Best SeaWorld experiences for children under 5

Sesame Street Land

A favourite with nursery age children is Sesame Street Land. This explosion of colour and furry friends will have little ones in their element. We recommend starting out with a ride on Elmo’s Choo Choo train before splashing around at Rubber Duckie Water Works. Then dry off on the Sunny Day Carousel. There’s also plenty of interactive fun to be had from transforming your voice into a friendly monster with the Two-Headed Monster Pipe Telephone to singing and dancing with Elmo and friends at Elmo’s Window.

Animal encounters

SeaWorld is the perfect place to indulge the little one’s fascination with animals. There are several opportunities to come face-to-face with incredible creatures at the park, from watching a playful group of bottlenose dolphins in the Dolphin Encounter to petting stingrays or tossing fish to hungry sealions. These up-close encounters add a magical, educational element to your day and often become the moments children remember most long after the rides are over.

Journey to Atlantis

For the more adventurous under 10s, they can soak up the thrills at Journey to Atlantis. This hybrid water coaster is a popular SeaWorld attraction that takes guests on a wet and wild journey through the sunken city of Atlantis. Kids will love its mix of suspenseful dark passageways, 60-foot drop, and ample opportunity to cool off in the hot Florida sunshine.

Dolphin Adventures

Another great option for kids that are a little older is Dolphin Adventures. Take a seat and watch these majestic creatures in all their glory at Dolphin Stadium. This 20-minute educational live show gives guests a fascinating insight into dolphin behaviour, intelligence, and natural traits, while also highlighting SeaWorld’s important conservation and rescue work.

Best SeaWorld experiences for teenagers

Icebreaker

Teenagers often crave those high-speed thrills, and luckily at SeaWorld there’s a few to satisfy the craving. The multi-launch coaster Icebreaker is a perfect start. Featuring backwards and forwards launches, as well as Florida’s steepest beyond-vertical drop, it will have teens giddy with excitement and plenty of boasting points afterwards. Be advised, guests must be at least 48 inches to take a ride on this one.

Pipeline: The Surf Coaster

This first-of-its-kind coaster is a great one for teens looking to catch a wave of adrenaline. The innovative stand-up design allows incredible freedom of movement as you wind your way through wave like dips and curves. Reaching speeds of up to 60mph, the coaster delivers plenty of thrills, making it ideal for teenagers who love high-energy rides with a fresh twist.

Best SeaWorld experiences for adults

Sky Tower

For a bird’s eye view of Orlando, Sky Tower is a must for adults looking to unwind and take in the scenery. Ever since its opening in 1974, it has remained an icon of SeaWorld. This 400-foot observation tower features a slowly rotating capsule that allows visitors to take in the sights of the city below. For added magic, take a ride up in the evening to experience the city glowing with dazzling lights.

Infinity Falls

This fast-paced river rapids ride takes guests on a journey through lush rainforest scenery, where swirling currents, sudden splashes, and one of the tallest drops of its kind come together to create an experience full of laughs, screams, and soaked clothes by the end. It’s also especially refreshing during the warmer Florida months.

Best SeaWorld experiences for the whole family

Expedition Odyssey

Step into a frozen world with Expedition Odyssey. This unique attraction blends a smooth, motion-based ride with breathtaking real-world footage, taking guests on an unforgettable journey across towering icebergs and beneath icy seas. Along the way, you’ll encounter some of the Arctic’s most remarkable residents, from graceful beluga whales to powerful walruses and majestic polar bears. Designed with the latest ride technology, the simulator creates the sensation of gliding naturally with ocean currents rather than simply watching a screen. With a low height requirement of just 39 inches, it’s an adventure the whole family can enjoy together.

SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep

Surfacing at SeaWorld in 2026, SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep is set to be one for the entire family to enjoy. This submersible adventure will follow on from the success of Expedition Odyssey and will invite guests to discover luminous underwater worlds alive with remarkable creatures, vast landscapes, and compelling stories inspired by the depths of the ocean.
