| Day 1 | |
|---|---|
| Port | Port Canaveral |
| Arrival | |
| Departure | 16:00 |
| Remark | Port Canaveral cruises take you to places many would consider out of this world. Experience the magic of central Florida on a Port Canaveral cruise, from the excitement of space shuttle launches and pristine beaches to the family-fun attractions at Orlando theme parks. A Port Canaveral cruise departs near Kennedy Space Centre, offering tours of NASA's Rocket Garden. Cocoa Beach beckons swimmers and surfers with its sandy shores while Merritt Island invites kayaking or boating through the Indian River Lagoon, home to over 2,000 coastal and marine animal species. |
| Day 2 | |
|---|---|
| Port | Nassau, Bahamas |
| Arrival | 09:00 |
| Departure | 18:00 |
| Remark | Proclaimed a pirate republic by the early 1700s, Nassau once sheltered more than 1,000 pirates, outnumbering the hundred inhabitants of the town. While its pirate history runs deep, today Nassau, located on the island of New Providence, is the capital and commercial centre of the Bahamas and the archipelago's largest city. AS you arrive on an MSC Caribbean and Antilles cruise, take in Nassau's charming colonial-style buildings and pastel-coloured wooden shops that alternate with Georgian-style structures. Founded by the British in 1670, Nassau stretches from the harbour to Bay Street, the main drag through town that is replete with shops, souvenirs, restaurants and entertainment. At Straw Market, where typical Bahamian souvenirs are sold, be prepared to bargain - it's a tradition that is almost a duty. A popular tourist area is Cable Beach, a 4-mile stretch of beach and resorts on the north central coast of New Providence, 3 miles from Nassau. Paradise Beach, on Paradise Island, is one of the best beaches in the area. For a nearly private beach experience, take an MSC excursion to Blue Lagoon Island, a private island with one of the most secluded beaches in the Bahamas, or opt for a VIP beach cabana experience at the offshore picture-perfect oasis of Balmoral Island. Book an MSC excursion to Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, where you can enjoy a diverse choice of attractions. These range from Aquaventure, an exhilarating 141-acre waterpark where you can ride swells of rapids and fly down 7-story slides, to the Dig, a faux archaeological site that recreates the ruins of ancient Atlantis, or Predator Lagoon, home to sharks, rays, barracudas and sawfish. Don't miss the magnificent views of Nassau, Paradise Island and a good portion of the Bahamas from the top of Queen's Staircase at Fort Fincastle. Watch as water cascades alongside the historical staircase, comprising 65 steps hand-carved out of solid limestone rock by 600 slaves between 1793 and 1794. |
| Day 3 | |
|---|---|
| Port | Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve |
| Arrival | 08:00 |
| Departure | 18:00 |
| Remark | Discover our new and exclusive Bahamian destination: Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. Here you can spend a one-of-a-kind experience on an authentic Caribbean Marine Reserve, while connecting with the natural world, feeling the warmth of the Bahamian spirit and immersing in an eco-friendly environment. Marine Reserve offers guests over 2 miles of white sand beaches to spread out and relax beside crystal blue water, and activities for all ages day and night. With docking right on the island, you can walk straight off the ship to one of the island's multiple beaches where chairs, umbrellas and cabanas await. Spend the day snorkelling, paddle boarding, jet skiing and more, or for wellness and relaxation, visit The Spa at Ocean Cay offering beachside massages. Grab a snack or refresh with an Instagram-worthy beverage at food trucks and beach bars throughout the island. With late night - or overnight - stays on many cruises, you'll get to spend a full day, or two, on our stunning island. Melt into the sunset with a beach picnic, fire pits or a glow paddle boarding experience in our lagoon. Then, watch as the Lighthouse shines with a spectacular light show. |
| Day 4 | |
|---|---|
| Port | Day at Sea |
| Arrival | |
| Departure | |
| Remark | A day at sea gives you the opportunity to recharge before docking at your next port. Enjoy the many amenities your ship has to offer by pampering yourself with a relaxing spa day, catching an entertaining show with talented performers, or savouring an evening of fine dining at one of our many restaurants. Stick to your fitness goals by heading to the gym or hitting the mat for a mindful yoga session. Peruse a variety of shops to discover fashionable outfits, accessories, and jewellery. With endless attractions and activities, your sea day experience will be one for the books. |
| Day 5 | |
|---|---|
| Port | Puerto Plata |
| Arrival | 08:00 |
| Departure | 17:00 |
| Remark | A stop at the Dominican Republic during an MSC cruise to the Caribbean and Antilles means experiencing the everyday life of Santo Domingo. Earthquakes and pirates have erased most of the city constructed by the Spanish in the 16th century. In spite of this, the old colonial section of the city still contains some important well-restored examples of buildings from the period, which you will be able to easily visit once disembarked from your cruise ship. Some of the most important architectural sites include the Cathedral of Santa María la Menor and Alcázar de Colón, the former residence of the island's governor, which overlooks the nearby Rio Ozama. Five hundred years ago, the entire city of Santo Domingo fit into this small neighbourhood, which was restored and filled with bars and shops in the second half of the 20th century. Traces of the antique city walls as well as its entrance, Puerta de la Misericordia, can still be seen. Beyond the walls, Santo Domingo offers its visitors some enchanting spots. To the west of the colonial sector and to the north of Malecon, there is the district of Gazcue: a quiet residential area shaded by trees that plays host to the Plaza de la Cultura cultural complex. Here, four museum stand within a short distance of each other: the Museo del Hombre Dominicano, the Museo de Arte Moderno, the Museo de Historia y Geografia and the Museo de Historia Natural. About 70 km from Santo Domingo, there is a popular natural tourist destination, a waterfall so perfect that it seems unreal, the Salto de Socoa. Santo Domingo is famous of its waterfalls, but this one is the closest to the capital and the most easily accessible of all; this MSC excursion to the Province of Monte Plata will let you experience first hand the marvels of the island's interior covered with lush vegetation. Keeping to the coast, another excursion will take you to the clear waters and white sands of Boca Chica, located just 40 km outside Santo Domingo. |
