Things To Do Clearwater

The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is one of the star attractions - see Winter (Star of the film Dolphin Tale!) and the rest of the dazzling dolphins, with shows scheduled throughout the day with the Aquarium also having the ability to arrange further trips and activities.
Pier 60 stretches out from the sugar-white sand of Clearwater Beach where you can take part in a spot of fishing, admire the artists who paint the stunning scenery during sunrise, and performers who entertain you during sunset. People flock to the Sunset at Pier 60 Festival where music is played and the locals generate a positive vibe between 5.30pm and 9.30pm.

Home to a load of eclectic pastimes, you won’t be stuck for things to do while you’re in Clearwater. From lazing on the beach, quenching your cultural thirsts, to even enjoying the smooth tones of jazz music, you’ll see that Clearwater is bursting at the seams with leisure activities. Make friends with sea life, and catch surreal views of heaven on earth, as here you’ll be amazed by the mountain of opportunities offered for you to have a good time.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium

One of the biggest attractions in this seaside town is the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, a rehabilitation centre for injured sea life which is available for tourists to see. Here, you can meet two famous dolphins who starred in Dolphin Tale one and two, with an all-star cast including Morgan Freeman, and hear the stories of which are based on both their rescues. A family trip to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium brings both great fun and education, since you’ll see dolphins, sea turtles, pelicans and more in an array of boat tours, educational programs, animal care experiences, and daily presentations.

Dali Museum

Another attraction you won’t want to miss if you’re in this area is the Dali Museum, a must see for armchair art critics and connoisseurs alike. Here, you can engage your cultural tastes with a look around the surreal works of the renowned Spanish artist Salvador Dali. See the life’s work of this revolutionary creative, conveniently showcased in its entirety just a half hour’s drive from central Clearwater. There’s also a myriad of other worthy museums too including the Dunedin History Museum which preserves 2,000 artefacts, 2,500 photographs, and a library full of documents from the old town of Dunedin so visitors can get a taste of life in this Floridian town over a century ago.

Clearwater Jazz Festival

If you’re in Clearwater in October and are a music lover, then you’ll be pleased to hear that the Clearwater Jazz Festival occurs annually and features some of the best jazz acts to grace the East Coast. Eat, drink and enjoy an excellent festival experience, a far cry from what you’re used to with festivals at home as you’re blessed with Florida’s consistently beautiful weather, staying sunny all year round. You’ll have a ball singing and dancing to the tunes of these slick bands, sound-tracking your festival fun.

Caladesi Island

If you fancy going off-shore to explore a nearby barrier island, then the perfect opportunity awaits a short ferry ride away. Caladesi Island holds a State Park which makes for a great place to enjoy sun-soaked beach walks, a three-mile nature trail where you can see a ton of exotic animals, picnic pavilions for a spot of lunch and a concession stand for sweet-treats during your visit to this unspoilt island. A fine example of Clearwater’s natural beauty, you’ll find that a trip to Caladesi Island may well be your best day out during your holiday in Florida.

Pier 60

While you’re in Clearwater, there’s a daily attraction that occurs at Pier 60, starting two hours before and finishing two hours after the incredible sunset. Pier 60 boasts some of the most stunning views of the Gulf Coast, so it only makes sense that the locals make a big deal out of the sunset. Each day a fun-filled festival is hosted championing some great music, artisans, crafters and street performers. Join in on this fabulous festival to round off your days in Clearwater, as you’ll be over the moon to see these exciting musings to the backdrop of a gorgeous sunset over the ocean.
