Gulf Islands National Seashore, Pensacola
- Home to some of Florida’s most beautiful beaches
- Six distinct areas offer a wide range of activities for all the family
- Swim, snorkel, hike and bike along the beautiful coastline
Explore the vast white sands of Gulf Islands National Seashore as you escape to Florida’s stunning coastline. With seashore that stretches across 160 miles, there’s plenty to explore here. In fact, there are places to stop all along the coast – meaning it’s easy to find your very own private beach area.
With its turquoise waters and white sand, it’s no surprise the beach here was named No. 1 beach in the state by readers of USA Today. However, it’s not only the sugary soft sands that bring visitors here, the attractions are pretty good too and include something for everyone. The Fort Barrancas Area is home to Pensacola Naval Air Station, where visitors can tour Fort Barrancas and the Advanced Redoubt, while the Perdido Key area is ideal for that afternoon hike or relaxing at the pretty Johnson Beach. Other areas include the Fort Pickens Area, Santa Rose Day Use Area, a popular beach spot, Okaloosa Day Use Area, and the Naval Live Oaks Area, which offers guided walks and tours as well as stargazing adventures.
