Ringling Museum of Art, Sarasota
- Soak up the art, architecture, and nature at this 66 acre estate
- Discover the wonders of the Ringling Bros' original travelling circus show
- Take a peek at the home and artwork of the Ringling family
With its 66 acres of artwork and attractions, the Ringling Museum Complex has something for every tourist. Two of the most popular features here are the Museum of Art, which features John Ringling and his wife’s personal collection of artworks, and the Ringling’s Circus Museum, which documents Ringling’s time at the circus as a former circus baron. Walk the wire, admire the glittering theatrical costumes, and squeeze into a clown car. Everything you’ve ever wanted to know about circus life can be found here and explored close-up.
Of course, the Museum of Art and circus extravaganza are just a snippet of what’s on offer. Once you’ve taken in the beautiful collection of 14th to 18th century artwork and the madness of the circus, you can get to grips with the Ringling’s home, Ca’d’Zan, with a guided tour. Inspired by the Venetian Gothic style of the palazzos, the interior offers everything you’d expect from a home of a circus king and his wife. The Bayfront Gardens are just as impressive too, and feature a Secret Garden, Dwarf Garden and the Millennium Tree Trail.
