Siesta Beach, Sarasota
- Award-winning beach with sugar-fine, white sand
- Gentle, shallow waters are perfect for swimming
- Popular with families & free parking available
Famous for its sugar-fine, quartz-white sand, Sarasota’s Siesta Beach is often named one of the best in America, winning the TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Award for Best Beaches in 2015. The weather is perfect year-round and the pale, translucent blue-green waters could easily be mistaken for those of the Caribbean. Unsurprisingly, Siesta Beach is a very popular spot for families in Sarasota. The gentle water’s shallow depth is ideal for paddling and there are lifeguards on standby. Visitors can also make use of the public restrooms and showers.
Free parking is available at Siesta Beach but we recommend you get there nice and early to grab a spot! There’s also a children’s playground nearby and a concession stand selling food and drinks accompanied by some live music! And when you’re done enjoying Siesta Beach, a short walk will take you to Siesta Village where you’ll find outdoor dining, coffee shops and lots of opportunities to find the perfect souvenir.
