If you've ever watched your favourite Disney movie and wished you could experience it in real life, Disney's Art of Animation Resort is the perfect place for you. A resort themed around four of Disney's best classic movies: The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Cars and Finding Nemo; the hotel is one of Disney's biggest and has a wealth of immersive experiences to enjoy.

Everywhere you look you'll spot something fun and unexpected, such as Lightning McQueen parked in the driveway or a recreation of Pride Rock with Mufasa perched on top. Uniting two generations of childhood fairytales, kids and adults alike love the dreamscape designs, making it easy to jump two feet first into the imaginative amenities, dining and entertainment; creating a perfect choice for young families at Walt Disney World.

Extended Overview

Disney's Art of Animation Resort is one of Disney's best Prime Value Resorts, located in the Hollywood Studios Resort Area. The resort is fully themed around Disney films, with four large courtyards representing each movie complete with sculptures and life-size figurines. With a huge variety of rooms, you can take your pick of where to stay, whether you're happy with a standard room or need a bigger family suite. Let's not forget the three spacious pools - including the largest of any Disney World resort, pool bar, food court and simple transport connections to the parks, including via the Disney Skyliner, plus a Disney gift shop, to save you queuing for souvenirs in the parks.

Rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

No matter whether you're travelling as a couple or a family, want to save or splurge, Disney's Art of Animation Resort has the perfect room for you. Out of the four themed sections, The Little Mermaid area is home to the resort's standard rooms which are impressively spacious and can sleep up to four people. Any Little Mermaid fan will love the décor in these rooms, from the cute pictures of Flounder on the walls to the seashell mirrors and chairs.

Family suites, located in the remaining themed areas, are even bigger and can sleep up to six people, which is ideal if you're travelling with friends or little ones. They also each have two bathrooms, a kitchenette and three sleeping areas, and are decorated in Cars, Finding Nemo and Lion King styles, complete with fun quirks like underwater-themed headboards and jungle curtains to bring each movie to life. Walk-in showers and living areas are another bonus of family suites, meaning everyone can kick back and have their own space after a long day of adventure in the parks.

Dining and Entertainment

Save some time for activities outside the Disney parks, because there's plenty to keep you entertained at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. After a day of thrills or if you just need a break from rollercoasters, why not chill out by Disney World's biggest resort pool, The Big Blue Pool, with a cocktail or a snack from the Drop Off pool bar, while the kids splash about. If you're looking for somewhere slightly smaller, the Cars-themed Cozy Cone pool and the Flippin' Fins pool, complete with an Under the Sea orchestra, will keep the fun going all day long.

If food is front of your mind when choosing a resort, then you're in luck, because Art of Animation Resort's Landscape of Flavours is one of the most magical dining options around. The food court serves three meals a day and features five separate dining options, which serve everything from classic American favourites to Indian and even Mongolian cuisine! On top of this, you can enjoy a long breakfast menu of character waffles, bagels, omelettes and more, the option of buying Mickey Mouse celebration cakes for special occasions, and a bakery section selling amazing Art of Animation cupcakes, realistically decorated with movie characters. If you don't have the time for a big sit-down meal, you can also enjoy the Pop Art Pizza Delivery menu, which serves delicious starters, pizza and drinks when you're short on time or just want an in-room snack.

Transport & Extras at Art of Animation Resort

Let's talk about the most convenient part of staying at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, the theme park connections! One of the biggest perks of staying here is being able to access Disney Skyliner, the fun, themed gondolas that glide between parks, connecting certain resorts to Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. If you head to EPCOT via Skyliner, you're just a short hop from the restaurants and entertainment at Disney Boardwalk. Staying at Art of Animation Resort also gives you access to bus rides to the other parks, Disney Springs and the water parks which are all around 20 minutes from the resort.

While you're here, you can look forward to a few more fun activities and amenities that we haven't mentioned yet, including a jogging trail around the beautiful Hourglass Lake, games at Pixel Play Arcade and the Righteous Reef children's playground, as well as Ink and Paint, the gift shop brimming with Disney merchandise. On arrival, you'll get given lots of information about what's happening during your stay, from open-air movie nights to pool parties, and since you're staying in a resort, you can enjoy early access to the parks.
