Explore new wands at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Over at Universal Orlando Resort, we love the addition of the second generation of wands at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. With four new wand designs, they connect via Bluetooth and allow lucky wizards to start casting spells around the park with updated adventures. 

The app also lets you create your wizard profile (including the all-important house location) and keep track of successful spells cast. Wands can be bought at several locations, including Owl Post and the famous Ollivanders Wand Shop, where a young Harry was matched to his first wand.

Trainer for a Day at SeaWorld

A brilliant under-the-radar experience for all the family is SeaWorld’s Trainer for a Day. See what it takes to care for the park’s incredible marine life as you step behind the scenes with an expert trainer. Get a haircut on Main Street

If you couldn’t squeeze in a fresh holiday haircut prior to jetting off, what better place to shed some locks than at Walt Disney World. This is one for all LEGO enthusiasts. LEGOLAND offers a fun and unique way of swapping out any of your older minifigures for something new. Simply look for any employee, known as Model Citizens, with tradeable figures on their name badge and ask if you can swap. 

Or if you’re looking to expand your LEGO minifigure collection, Trading Posts throughout the parks let you buy and collect as many as you like. A couple of tips to make things easier and save time is to keep a bag for your collection and make a list of the minifigures you are looking for. 

Send a letter via Owl Post

If you’re looking to send a postcard to a muggle, be sure to stop by the Owl Post shop located in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The shops boasts an assortment of specialised postcards and stationery to browse. Once you’re ready, bring your chosen piece of mail to a staff member to have it stamped with the official Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley postmark and off it goes to that special someone. You may even want to send one to yourself as a memento. 

Snorkel with sharks

It’s not just Orlando’s epic rides that get the adrenaline going. Over at Discovery Cove, you can come face to face with over 20 sharks, a sure-fire way to get the heart thumping.
