Set to redefine the future of family cruising, Hero of the Seas is Royal Caribbean International’s newest Icon Class ship and one of the most ambitious cruise experiences ever created. Debuting in August 2027, the ship will sail from Miami on seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, including visits to Perfect Day at CocoCay. Designed as a resort, theme park and cruise all in one, the ship builds on the success of Icon of the Seas with even more experiences for families, couples and groups.

One of its biggest highlights is the addition of nine swimming pools (the most ever on a cruise ship) spread across eight themed neighbourhoods. New spaces such as Coconut Cove and the upgraded adults-only Hideaway neighbourhood offer relaxed island-style lounging and lively beach-club energy, while expanded family areas like Splashaway Bay encourage shared experiences for all ages.

Adventure also takes centre stage with Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, now featuring the first funnel raft slide on a cruise ship and new family-style racing slides. Signature attractions such as Crown’s Edge, the FlowRider surf simulator and rock climbing walls add even more excitement throughout the voyage.

Dining onboard is equally entertaining, with 28 venues ranging from casual favourites to interactive experiences like the jazz-inspired Orleans Parish Supper Club and Royal Railway - Hero Station, a train-themed dining adventure. At the same time, Hero of the Seas balances high-energy entertainment with spaces designed for relaxation, offering dedicated kids’ areas, adult-only retreats and enhanced venues such as the AquaDome, Royal Theater and Absolute Zero ice arena.
