Almost everyone wants a taste of the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas. Luckily, in 2024, everyone can. With plenty of accessible options, no one has to miss out on the bright lights of Sin City, whatever your restrictions. With the right planning, you will find lots of choice for accessible accommodation, transport, and attractions. And you don’t need to plan alone. As USA holiday specialists, we have put together an accessible holiday guide to your Las Vegas trip of a lifetime...

How to Find Accommodation

Finding the right accommodation is almost like a fine art. There are many factors to consider when choosing this aspect of your holiday, especially when you require certain accessibility features. Luckily, we are on hand to help. Just tell us your needs and we’ll find you the perfect selection. And in Vegas, there is a plethora of choice.

Grand Accessible Two Queen at MGM Grand

The MGM Grand is renowned for its commitment to accessibility, offering a wide range of accessible rooms with features such as roll-in showers, grab bars, and lowered countertops. The hotel also provides accessible entrances, common areas, and amenities, making it an ideal choice for travellers with disabilities. Other great options include Caesars Palace, with ADA compliant rooms, the Bellagio, which features accessible pathways throughout, as well as accessible dining and entertainment options, and Wynn Las Vegas, where the rooms come equipped with visual alarms. Finally, we love the Waldorf Astoria - a crown jewel of Vegas hotels that offers no-step access to virtually all areas and floors of the property

Transport options

Transfers

We proudly offer wheelchair accessible transfers between the Harry Reid International Airport and the Las Vegas Strip. When staying on The Strip, amidst the endless attractions and amenities that await around every corner, this may be the only transport you need.

Bus

Getting around by bus in Las Vegas couldn’t be easier. The Regional Transportation Commission is committed to having fully accessible buses in its fleet. These buses are lift-equipped, have low floors, and can accommodate space for up to two wheelchairs. Priority seating is also provided for those with disabilities.

Monorail

One of the best ways to travel on the Las Vegas Strip is the monorail. This handy connection is fully ADA compliant, meaning wheelchairs and scooters can come onboard. All monorail stations are also equipped with elevators to the station level. Plus, if you need any assistance, security officers are on hand to help. With trains arriving every 5-6 minutes, you also won’t have to wait around for long.

Paratransit

Paratransit is a brilliant option for anyone who may struggle to use the regular transport system in Las Vegas. Paratransit vehicles are specially designed to accommodate passengers with mobility devices such as wheelchairs, and they provide door-to-door service, picking up passengers at their origin and dropping them off at their destination. To be eligible for this service, people must meet certain criteria outlined by the ADA. Once deemed eligible, you can schedule paratransit trips in advance, with the general rule being a day before travel.

Wheelchair accessible taxis

If you want to avoid public transportation, an ideal option is wheelchair accessible taxis. All Las Vegas taxi companies are required to have wheelchair accessible vans in their fleet which cater to both manual and powered wheelchairs. Keep in mind that the vans do vary, with some offering lifts and others offering ramps.

Accessible Attractions

The Strip

The famed Las Vegas Strip is where neon lights, stunning hotel complexes, and entertainment galore blend to create a dazzling feast for the senses. And with wide sidewalks and curb cuts at intersections, everyone can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.

Madame Tussauds

If you ever wanted a picture with Beyonce or Brad Pitt, but haven’t quite had that luck, Madame Tussauds is the next best thing. Home to an abundance of your favourite celebrities created from waxwork, it is a great accessible attraction. It has a wheelchair accessible entrance, elevators between floors, and free wheelchairs to borrow. Plus, one caregiver can be admitted free of charge and service animals are also allowed.

Bellagio Fountain

Another Las Vegas icon not to be missed is the Bellagio Fountain. Located in front of the mesmerizing Bellagio Hotel, it offers nightly water shows choreographed to music and lights and is fully accessible with ramps and designated viewing spaces for wheelchair users. And make sure to head inside the Bellagio resort afterwards, as it’s one of the best hotels in Vegas.

Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay

With touch exhibits and tactile experiences available for visitors with sensory disabilities, as well as ramps and elevators for wheelchairs, this is a perfect option for your itinerary. This fully accessible attraction is home to some of the most fascinating marine life from around the world, including sharks, sea turtles, and exotic fish.
