Fort Myers, Captiva and Sanibel Island are the dream trio of destinations that make for a fantastic stay in southwest Florida. Each area is a stone’s throw from one another, but their characters are so different that you’ll have every reason to stop by them all.

Fort Myers
If you want a good mix of relaxation and city-buzz then Fort Myers is the winner, thanks to its boutique shops, bars and restaurants. Explore historic landmarks like the Edison & Ford Winter Estates or tee off on the numerous golf courses.

Also known as the ‘City of Palms’ for its roads lined with abundant palm trees, the area features a gorgeous beach and a bustling downtown to get your fix of cosmopolitan life while you’re there. The River District features a bunch of shopping outlets for some retail therapy as well as a load of bars to enjoy too.

Sanibel Island
Sanibel Island is a peaceful retreat away from the busier side of southwestern Florida. Experience a tropical atmosphere among numerous white-sand beaches, beautiful wildlife and brilliant recreational trails just perfect for family days out. This place is also known as the ‘Shelling Capital of the World’, so you know that you and the family will have an excellent time picking the most beautiful of pastel-hued shells.
Sanibel Island is just a short drive across an overseas causeway from Fort Myers and is a blissful haven ideal for a tranquil retreat with the family. Here you can enjoy up to 25-miles of recreational trails and bike paths for active days exploring the island, and kick back after on Tarpon Beach, or go fishing at Lighthouse Beach & Fishing Pier.

Captiva
For the utmost seclusion and serenity, you’ll want to head to Captiva. Experience the apex of peace on this unique island, a great destination thanks to its collection of tranquil beaches, gorgeous palm trees, and breath-taking sunsets.
Captiva is the next island on from Sanibel and is known for attracting some famous guests for their sun-soaked holidays including previous US presidents, renowned aviators and animators.
