Welcome to the capital of Massachusetts, Boston, one of the oldest cities in America. Experience the epitome of New England here at the cultural hub of the East Coast. This enthralling metropolis has an excellent mix of culture, arts and leisure to tuck in to. Experience the US with a European flair, as you get involved in activities like the Freedom Trail, seeing a baseball match at Fenway Park and visiting the USS Constitution.

Boston Red Sox
Boston is home to one of the biggest Major League Baseball teams in the States, the Boston Red Sox. The team’s uniform, performance and stadium are iconic, and so holidaymakers particularly into sport should pay a visit to the Red Sox’s HQ at Fenway Park to enjoy a game. You’ll have a grand day out cheering on these athletes as you enjoy a beer and great foodstuffs like doughnuts, hotdogs, veggie options, and pretzels from multiple dining amenities scattered across the stadium.

With the sport being a big part of American life, you can experience US culture in the most exciting way possible, with a baseball match that’ll have you on the edge of your seat.

Boston is a hub of culture and arts, so you won’t be surprised to hear that it’s filled to the brim with museums and cultural attractions for you to visit. Get your fix of arts and humanities during your getaway to one of the founding cities in the USA.

Showcasing the finest of current artworks is the Institute of Contemporary Arts and the Museum of Fine Arts, both packed to the brim with highly acclaimed pieces by artists from across the globe.
If you’re here with the family then why not take the kids to the Boston Children’s Museum, where they can learn of fibre weaving or see shows like Seussical. Those interested in American politics will love flicking through the archives of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, too.

With a wide range of activities on hand, quenching your cultural thirst in Boston has so many possibilities thanks to the eclectic variety of museums around the city.

USS Constitution

The USS Constitution is a naval military ship first launched in 1797 and has a history of warfare and expeditions across the world. Noted as a national treasure, the ship is now on show for locals and tourists to see. Showcasing old-school military artefacts from several eras of American war, you can see it’s gleaming history through a series of showrooms and exhibitions aboard the ship itself, as well as hear lectures from expert historians with adept knowledge of this antique vessel.

Bunker Hill Monument
A significant piece of American history sits in Boston, a must-see for city sight-seers. Built to commemorate American soldiers who gave their lives fighting the British for independence in the Battle of Bunker Hill. This towering monument is a tribute to the people who played a huge role in US culture today, so even armchair historians should stop off and enjoy this great landmark.

Boston is home to some unique dishes that are a must-try if you’re looking at a city break here. Served in many eateries around the city, you can find local delights like lobster rolls with fries, fried clam, and a traditional favourite to New England settlements containing fish, potatoes and onions, chowder.

Fish is a big part of Boston’s cuisine, rightly so since the locals have the seas of the Atlantic to harvest the freshest pescatarian dishes across the world.

Weather/ Best Time to Go
Boston’s weather is perfect for a city getaway. With cold winters (-2o at lowest) and hot summers (24o at highest), you can see Boston in all its glory either in sun-soaked bliss or in the chill of the colder months.

The most preferable time to visit to get the most out of your trip would be between August and October as the temperature dips in the run-up to the Autumn months. On-foot, sightseers will find this time of year far more comfortable than in months like July or January, as weather somewhere between hot and cold will be just right.
