Caribbean Highlights
The Caribbean is a melting pot of stunning scenery, endless adventure, and tasty cuisine, so there’s no wonder it’s one of the world’s most popular holiday destinations. From its pristine sandy beaches and sparkling, clear waters to the lively nightlife and vibrant carnivals, you’ll enjoy the best of rest and play.
Sandy Beaches
From hidden coves to long stretches of lush white sands, the Caribbean is most famous for its beautiful beaches. Relax on the shore or dive in and discover the incredible marine life that lies beneath the surface, with snorkelling and even swimming with dolphins on offer. There’s even a beach in the Bahamas where you can swim with pigs!
Colourful Carnivals
Caribbean carnivals are some of the world’s most famous, thanks to their vibrant energy, cultural pride, and welcoming atmosphere. Some are more traditional, with centuries-old folk traditions, while others see performances from international reggae artists. But all are a sight to behold and an experience you’ll never forget.
Lively Nightlife
Pack your dancing shoes… because the Caribbean knows how to party! From dance classes to live music, when the sun goes down these islands come alive. Enjoy clubs and casinos in the Dominican Republic, piano bars and cabaret shows in Puerto Rico, and live reggae music in Jamaica. Ready to party?
Delicious Food
You’ll never go hungry on your Caribbean multi-centre holiday, with each island boasting incredible local flavours and cuisines. Savour fresh conch ceviche, jerk chicken, spiced plantains, and flying fish. All best enjoyed with a rum cocktail, of course! Visiting Barbados, we recommend Friday Night Fish Fry in the village of Oistins for an authentic feast.
Mexico Highlights
There is no place like Mexico. Known around the world for its unique blend of picture-perfect beaches, eclectic culture, historical curiosities and of course its fiery food, this is a destination on everyone’s bucket list. And once you’ve been, you’ll want to return again and again!
Flawless Beaches
The true definition of paradise. Mexico’s beaches are among some of the best in the world, with an abundance of diving opportunities and various watersports in its turquoise waters, or simply sunbathing and building sandcastles on its endless stretches of pristine shoreline.
Iconic Meals
Replicated the world over but never as good as the real thing. Visiting Mexico gives you the chance to try some of its most iconic and spiciest cuisines using the freshest local ingredients, traditionally cooked and served up in the most inspirational settings. Think tacos, enchiladas, huevos rancheros, burritos and so much more!
Culture & History
Mexico has a rich and vibrant culture dating back to its fascinating ancient Mayan and Aztec civilisations, and more recently its Spanish influences. From the food, arts, music and dance of its traditional customs to its archaeological marvels and diverse towns and cities, Mexico is a wonder for exploration and discovery.
Big City Life
Mexico boasts big, sprawling cities like Mexico City, Guadalajara and the border town of Tijuana, which are profuse with cultural festivals, historical sites and excellent dining scenes. While its beachside resort cities like Cancún, Tulum and Playa del Carmen along the Riviera Maya are tourist hubs for dynamic nightlife and relaxing daytime vibes.

Caribbean & Mexico Holiday FAQs
Caribbean & Mexico Holiday FAQs
Caribbean & Mexico Holiday FAQs
When heading off on Caribbean and Mexico multi-centre holidays, the time of year will have an impact on your experience. For these destinations in particular, spring and autumn are two of the best times to visit.
During the spring months (typically from March to May) both the Caribbean and Mexico have a great blend of nice weather and a respite from the hordes of tourists. Temperatures range from 24°C to 29°C in the Caribbean and 24°C to 30°C in Mexico, depending on where you are. It’s a great time to bask on the gorgeous beaches of both destinations or tick off natural wonders while avoiding the larger crowds of the winter or summer.
Autumn (from September to November), is another great option. In both Mexico and the Caribbean, this is the end of the hurricane season and may still be relatively quiet in terms of tourists, however, the weather is much more predictable.
Winter is also a contender, but it does tend to get busier in both destinations, with larger crowds and potentially higher prices.
Hurricane season does affect both the Caribbean and Mexico, but the exact timing and intensity can vary depending on where you are. In the Caribbean, it typically runs from the beginning of June to the end of October, with the highest likelihood of hurricanes between August and October. It’s the same in Mexico along the eastern coast, particularly in the Cancún and Riviera Maya area. On the Pacific coast of Mexico, (including destinations like Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco), May to November is the most affected.
If you travel at this time, you might find that prices are lower and there are fewer crowds, but the weather is also less predictable and there's a greater likelihood of tropical storms. Typically, mornings will be sunny, so you can still enjoy outdoor activities - just be prepared for showers and weather changes.
The time difference between the UK and the Caribbean will vary slightly depending on which specific Caribbean island you choose. In general, it’s between 4 to 6 hours behind the UK. Some Caribbean islands, like Jamaica and the Bahamas, are 5 hours behind the UK, while others, like Barbados, may be 4 hours behind.
As for Mexico, it’s worth noting that the country spans multiple time zones, so the time difference varies depending on which region you’re in. Most of Mexico is 6 hours behind the UK, with the exception of some regions along the eastern coast, such as Cancún and Cozumel, which are 5 hours behind.
Neither the Caribbean nor Mexico typically observes Daylight Saving Time (DST), but there may be some exceptions in specific regions or islands, so be sure to check before you head off on your holiday.
For Caribbean and Mexico twin-centre holidays, your choice of airports in the UK largely depends on your location and preferences, but major international airports like London Heathrow Airport (LHR), London Gatwick Airport (LGW), Manchester Airport (MAN), and Birmingham Airport (BHX) have plenty of flight options to both the Caribbean and Mexico.
Depending on where you choose to go in the Caribbean, there are a number of popular entry points for tourists. Some of the primary international airports include Nassau's Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) in the Bahamas, Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) in the Dominican Republic, and Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) in Barbados, among others.
Similarly, for your Mexico twin-centre holiday, your choice of airport will depend on your itinerary. Mexico has several major international airports, including Cancún International Airport (CUN), Mexico City International Airport (MEX) and Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), and Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR).
When connecting between your Caribbean destination and Mexico, be aware that there aren’t usually any direct flights between the two regions. It’s likely that you’ll need to make a connection through one of the major US cities to get from one to the other, so factor this into your planning.
You can book your dream holiday well ahead of your departure date, with the option to secure your trip up to 36 months in advance. To get started, you’ll just need to put down an initial deposit to reserve your holiday. Then, you can effortlessly manage your budget by dividing the remaining expenses into convenient monthly instalments.
Planning your Caribbean twin-centre? You’ll find that there are plenty of incredible destinations to choose from. One option is the island of Nassau in the Bahamas - known for its stunning beaches and vibrant culture, it boasts luxurious resorts as well as historical sites, including the colourful buildings of downtown Nassau.
Another popular tourist spot is the Dominican Republic. Punta Cana is a tropical paradise with ample all-inclusive resorts, making it a top choice for a relaxing beach getaway. The crystal-clear waters and idyllic shores give the whole place a paradisiacal feel.
If you want to go beyond the resorts and experience a little more culture without sacrificing luxury, you’ll love Barbados. With its welcoming atmosphere and rich cultural heritage, it offers a great taste of Caribbean culture. Take a trip to Bridgetown, the capital city, to dive deeper into the history, exploring historic sites like St. Nicholas Abbey.
For natural beauty, consider heading to St. Lucia. It has gorgeously lush landscapes, including the iconic Pitons, that create a stunning backdrop for your stay. Choose a resort in Soufrière for easy access to natural wonders like the Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens and Sulphur Springs Park.
For a mixture of relaxation and entertainment, you might like Montego Bay. This vibrant city has a mix of beaches, nightlife, and cultural attractions, including the Rose Hall Great House and Montego Bay Marine Park.
Saint Kitts and Nevis, the dual-island nation known for its incredible architecture and natural beauty, has a unique blend of history and serene beaches. Saint Kitts, the larger of the two islands, features some incredibly well-preserved colonial heritage, including the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding sea.
Finally, Curaçao, with its Dutch colonial charm and excellent diving opportunities, is another interesting choice for your Caribbean adventure. Willemstad, the capital, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its colourful buildings. Beyond its architectural charm, Curaçao is known for having some of the best diving and snorkelling experiences in the Caribbean.
One of the best things about Mexico is just how diverse it is. There’s something for everybody, no matter what you’re after.
If you're a city lover, you can enjoy a vibrant urban experience rich in culture and history in Mexico City. Stay in the historic neighborhoods of Centro Histórico or Condesa to be close to major attractions like the Zócalo, Chapultepec Park, and the Frida Kahlo Museum. You can explore ancient Aztec ruins, visit world-class museums, and of course, eat delicious food.
If you’re all about beautiful beaches along with vibrant nightlife, Cancún on the Yucatan Peninsula is a great choice. The Hotel Zone has rows of beachfront resorts, so it’s a great place to relax on the white sands before exploring the bustling nightlife in the evenings.
For a more laid-back and bohemian atmosphere, Tulum (which is further south along the Riviera Maya), is a popular choice. Stay in eco-friendly beachfront cabanas or in one of the many boutique hotels. It’s known for its stunning Mayan ruins overlooking the Caribbean Sea, as well as gorgeous cenotes and a thriving wellness and yoga scene.
Puerto Vallarta is nestled on Mexico's Pacific coast, and has a lovely mix of beautiful beaches, lush jungles, and a lively downtown area. There’s everything from beachfront resorts to charming hotels in the Romantic Zone. This one is a crowd pleaser - enjoy watersports, exploring the Sierra Madre mountains, and savour fresh seafood while taking in the unforgettable sunsets.
