Caribbean Highlights
The Caribbean is a melting pot of stunning scenery, endless adventure, and tasty cuisine, so there’s no wonder it’s one of the world’s most popular holiday destinations. From its pristine sandy beaches and sparkling, clear waters to the lively nightlife and vibrant carnivals, you’ll enjoy the best of rest and play.
Sandy Beaches
From hidden coves to long stretches of lush white sands, the Caribbean is most famous for its beautiful beaches. Relax on the shore or dive in and discover the incredible marine life that lies beneath the surface, with snorkelling and even swimming with dolphins on offer. There’s even a beach in the Bahamas where you can swim with pigs!
Colourful Carnivals
Caribbean carnivals are some of the world’s most famous, thanks to their vibrant energy, cultural pride, and welcoming atmosphere. Some are more traditional, with centuries-old folk traditions, while others see performances from international reggae artists. But all are a sight to behold and an experience you’ll never forget.
Lively Nightlife
Pack your dancing shoes… because the Caribbean knows how to party! From dance classes to live music, when the sun goes down these islands come alive. Enjoy clubs and casinos in the Dominican Republic, piano bars and cabaret shows in Puerto Rico, and live reggae music in Jamaica. Ready to party?
Delicious Food
You’ll never go hungry on your Caribbean multi-centre holiday, with each island boasting incredible local flavours and cuisines. Savour fresh conch ceviche, jerk chicken, spiced plantains, and flying fish. All best enjoyed with a rum cocktail, of course! Visiting Barbados, we recommend Friday Night Fish Fry in the village of Oistins for an authentic feast.
Hawaii Highlights
A trip to Hawaii is a feast for all the senses. Dine on its exquisite, Asian-inspired foods, dance its ancient hula routines, and take in its otherworldly landscapes, which will transport you to heaven on earth.
Dramatic Scenery
Hawaii’s incredible and diverse landscape is instantly recognisable, from its rocky promontories and lush mountain peaks to its golden swathes of sand and its rugged volcanic craters. It’s no wonder that these islands of striking natural beauty are the backdrop for many Hollywood films and TV series. You can rent a car and drive some of the most scenic coastal routes in the world or book a boat or helicopter tour and see the full scope of the islands’ splendour from a distance.
Fabulous Beaches
The beaches in Hawaii are the true definition of paradise and if you close your eyes and picture the perfect beach, you’ll end up here. Miles upon miles of golden sands are edged by turquoise-blue waters and flanked by swaying palm trees, while its jet-black volcanic beaches are equally as captivating and provide the perfect backdrop for a Pacific Island holiday. From the bustling tourist vibes of Oahu’s Waikiki Beach to the tranquil lagoons and unspoiled coves of the smaller islands, there’s a beach to suit everyone in Hawaii.
World-class Shopping
Much like the famed outlet shopping in Orlando, Hawaii has its own fair share of excellent malls and retailers where you can pick up designer clothing for a fraction of the original price – you may need to bring an empty suitcase for all those bargains. And if luxury shopping is more your thing, then Ala Moana Center in Waikiki will be your mecca!
Rich Culture
Steeped in history and deeply spiritual beliefs, Hawaii observes many traditional customs through music, dance, arts, and cultural practices, and is proud to share them with its visitors. There is a profound connection with the land, the ocean and the natural world that shapes these magnificent islands, running through everything from the food, the landmarks and everyday life. Dive in and absorb the magical culture of Hawaii, whether it’s a visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center, witnessing a fiery hula performance at a beachside lū’au, or taking a trip to one of its many sacred ancient sites.

Caribbean & Hawaii FAQs
Caribbean and Hawaii multi-centre holidays, one the best times to visit both is during the spring (March to May) and during the autumn (September to November). These seasons offer a fantastic blend of good weather and fewer crowds. In the spring months, both Hawaii and the Caribbean have lovely climates, with temperatures hovering between 23°C and 28°C in Hawaii and 24°C and 29°C in the Caribbean, depending on where you go. In both destinations, it’s a great time to enjoy the gorgeous beaches without the hordes of tourists or humidity of other seasons.
In autumn (from September to November), Hawaii enjoys comfortable temperatures between 24°C and 29°C, making it great for exploring its natural beauty and cultural attractions without too much heat. In the Caribbean, this period marks the end of the hurricane season, so it’ll still be relatively quiet but the weather is likely to be good.
While winter and summer are also great options for your holiday, there are a few things to bear in mind. Winter in Hawaii boasts pleasant temperatures (between 20°C and 26°C), but it's also the busy tourist season. The Caribbean can also be more crowded in the winter months and the weather can become hot and humid.
The time difference between the UK and the Caribbean is 5 hours, whereas Hawaii is 10 hours behind the UK. Neither observe Daylight Saving Time, so the time difference remains consistent year round. When you hop from one destination to the next, bear in mind that Hawaii is 5 hours behind the Caribbean - so don’t forget to adjust your watch!
When you head off from the UK, you'll have several major international airports to choose from, including London Heathrow Airport (LHR), London Gatwick Airport (LGW), Manchester Airport (MAN), and Birmingham Airport (BHX).
For your Hawaii multi-centre itinerary, you’ll typically start at Honolulu International Airport (HNL) on the island of Oahu. While for your Caribbean multi-centre itinerary, your airport will, of course, depend on your chosen destination. Some of the main airports include Nassau's Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) in the Bahamas, Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) in the Dominican Republic, and Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) in Barbados.
When connecting between Hawaii and the Caribbean, note that there aren't any direct flights. Typically, you’ll connect through major US cities such as Los Angeles, Dallas, or Houston.
Secure your getaway well in advance of your take-off date - you can lock in guaranteed prices up to 36 months before your travel dates. You’ll just need to put down an initial low deposit to reserve your trip, and from there, you can conveniently spread the remaining costs through manageable monthly instalments.
If you're looking for a mix of urban excitement and natural beauty, Oahu and Maui are great places to start. On the dynamic island of Oahu, Honolulu and Waikiki Beach are well-known tourist spots, but you can also delve deeper into the magic of Oahu by exploring the North Shore. Here, you'll find a surfer's paradise where you can watch world-class surfers shredding on legendary waves like the Banzai Pipeline and Sunset Beach.
Maui, known as the 'Valley Isle,' is internationally celebrated for its natural beauty and is a must for lovers of the great outdoors. The island’s diverse landscapes are incredible for those who love outdoor adventures, from snorkelling at Molokini Crater to relaxing on the golden sands of Wailea Beach.
The Big Island, or Hawaii Island, also has incredible diversity. It’s home to the lush Hamakua Coast, which plays host to waterfalls and botanical gardens. The Big Island's distinct landscapes, from volcanic deserts to tropical rainforests, has something for everyone.
A less typical choice is the captivating island of Kauai, which is often referred to as the 'Garden Isle.' It’s a lush, green paradise with dramatic landscapes. If you’re looking for something more chilled and full of natural beauty, this could be a great choice.
To experience a more tranquil and culturally rich side of Hawaii, set your sights on Molokai. It’s a hidden gem that enjoys a slower pace of life. Dive into the island's deep-rooted Hawaiian culture by visiting the historic Kalaupapa National Historical Park, hike to the towering sea cliffs or unwind on Papohaku Beach, one of Hawaii's largest white sand beaches, which is often blissfully uncrowded.
Traveling between the Hawaiian islands is relatively straightforward, and you have a few options. The most common is to hop on an inter-island flight. The flights are relatively short, and have numerous daily departures.
Another way to explore the islands is by taking a ferry, although services are more limited than flights and operate between specific islands, such as Maui and Lanai. If you can make it work with your itinerary, these ferry rides do offer a great view of Hawaii's stunning coastlines.
In the Caribbean, you really are spoiled for choice, with plenty of gorgeous destinations to choose from.
Jamaica is a firm favourite, with its infectious reggae rhythms, jaw-dropping beaches, and lush greenery and mountains. Explore the lively city of Montego Bay, soak in the history of Falmouth, or savour the natural beauty of and waterfalls of Ocho Rios.
If you’re looking for something that resembles something straight from a glossy travel magazine, you’ll love the tropical paradise that is The Bahamas. Nassau, the capital, offers a blend of culture and relaxation, while the Exumas has a series of secluded island retreats as well as stunning marine life.
Antigua, known as the ‘Land of 365 Beaches’, is a haven for sun-seekers. As well as its plentiful beaches, there are a handful of historic sites, including Nelson's Dockyard, as well as lively markets in the capital, St. John's, that adds to the island's charm.
The Dominican Republic is a dreamy blend of beautiful beaches and adrenaline-fuelled adventures. Punta Cana is famous for its beachfront resorts, while Santo Domingo, the capital, has a distinct colonial charm and is brimming with rich history and vibrant culture.
For nature enthusiasts, St. Lucia is a truly enchanting choice - with its dramatic Pitons, lush rainforests, and volcanic hot springs, it’s a tranquil escape in the midst of breathtaking landscapes.
In Hawaii, the awe-inspiring Haleakalā National Park on Maui is a must-see. Try to arrive before dawn to witness the sunrise from the summit of this dormant volcano for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The park also has excellent hiking trails that wind through otherworldly landscapes, allowing you to marvel at the unique flora and fauna along the way.
For a cultural experience in Hawaii, take a visit to the iconic Pearl Harbor. This historic site pays homage to the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, and the USS Arizona Memorial stands over the sunken battleship, with insightful exhibits in honour of the attack and its impact on World War II.
In the Caribbean, the Pitons in St. Lucia are an iconic natural wonder. These twin volcanic peaks, Gros Piton and Petit Piton, rise dramatically from the Caribbean Sea and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can head off on a challenging hike for unparalleled panoramic views. If that’s not your thing, you can still appreciate their beauty from the water while sailing or snorkelling along the stunning coast.
Aruba's Natural Pool is a hidden gem that is well worth discovering. Located in Arikok National Park, this natural wonder is a secluded oasis nestled among rugged cliffs and crashing waves. To reach it, you can take a thrilling off-road adventure via a rugged 4x4 vehicle, arriving at a serene, crystal-clear pool enclosed by volcanic rock formations at the end.
