Caribbean Highlights
The Caribbean is a melting pot of stunning scenery, endless adventure, and tasty cuisine, so there’s no wonder it’s one of the world’s most popular holiday destinations. From its pristine sandy beaches and sparkling, clear waters to the lively nightlife and vibrant carnivals, you’ll enjoy the best of rest and play.
Sandy Beaches
From hidden coves to long stretches of lush white sands, the Caribbean is most famous for its beautiful beaches. Relax on the shore or dive in and discover the incredible marine life that lies beneath the surface, with snorkelling and even swimming with dolphins on offer. There’s even a beach in the Bahamas where you can swim with pigs!
Colourful Carnivals
Caribbean carnivals are some of the world’s most famous, thanks to their vibrant energy, cultural pride, and welcoming atmosphere. Some are more traditional, with centuries-old folk traditions, while others see performances from international reggae artists. But all are a sight to behold and an experience you’ll never forget.
Lively Nightlife
Pack your dancing shoes… because the Caribbean knows how to party! From dance classes to live music, when the sun goes down these islands come alive. Enjoy clubs and casinos in the Dominican Republic, piano bars and cabaret shows in Puerto Rico, and live reggae music in Jamaica. Ready to party?
Delicious Food
You’ll never go hungry on your Caribbean multi-centre holiday, with each island boasting incredible local flavours and cuisines. Savour fresh conch ceviche, jerk chicken, spiced plantains, and flying fish. All best enjoyed with a rum cocktail, of course! Visiting Barbados, we recommend Friday Night Fish Fry in the village of Oistins for an authentic feast.

Miami & Caribbean FAQs
Miami & Caribbean FAQs
Miami & Caribbean FAQs
here’s rarely a bad time to plan your Miami and Caribbean multi-centre holidays, with the two destinations enjoying great weather throughout the year. But for the best time to visit Miami, aim for spring or autumn, when you can avoid the sweltering temperatures and hurricane season of summer and the winter sun seeking crowd, which can bump up the prices. Try April or November for highs of 26°C and just four or five days of rainfall per month.
The Caribbean islands boast a hot, tropical climate all-year-round, with average highs around 28°C. But the best time to visit is during the dry season, which usually runs from December to April, although May is also a good time to visit for more wallet-friendly prices. We recommend heading to the Caribbean during February, when the UK’s weather is at its most miserable!
Miami is generally 5 hours behind the UK and observes Eastern Standard Time (EST), while most Caribbean islands and nations observe either EST or Atlantic Standard Time (AST), with the latter generally 4 hours behind the UK.
However, if you’re travelling in March or November, look out for when their time zones change to Eastern Daylight Time and Atlantic Daylight Time, as US clocks go forward or backward an hour on different Sundays than in the UK.
The primary airport for UK tourists is Miami International Airport (MIA), with non-stop flights from London Heathrow (LHR) and London Gatwick (LGW).
For the Caribbean, you can fly from London directly to various airports, including Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) in Saint Lucia, V.C. Bird International Airport (ANU) in Antigua, Montego Bay Airport (MBJ) in Jamaica, Bridgetown Airport (BGI) in Barbados, and Providenciales International Airport (PLS) in Turks and Caicos. In fact, you can fly to 15 other Caribbean airports from London with one stop, and 17 with a couple of stops.
If you need flight advice for your multi-centre holiday to Miami and the Caribbean, just ask our USA experts.
We are proud to offer guaranteed prices up to 36 months ahead of your multi-centre holiday. You can secure your perfect package with an initial low deposit today and pay the remainder of your holiday in monthly instalments.
Pack your sun cream, because a Miami and Caribbean twin-centre holiday is sure to be hot! You may be picturing yourself exploring in t-shirts and shorts, and you’d be right – especially during the summer months – but if you’re visiting Miami in winter, be mindful that temperatures can drop to 17°C at night in January, so you may want to pack trousers and a light jumper. Miami’s rainy season runs from 15th May to 15th October, so if you’re visiting over the summer don’t forget your waterproofs!
In the Caribbean, the coldest city is Constanza in the Dominican Republic, where the temperature can drop as low as 8°C on winter nights, so make sure you pack warm clothing if your itinerary includes a stop there. Most of the Caribbean though is warm year-round; even in winter, the average daytime temperature hovers around 29°C, with a slight dip in the night to 21°C.
No visit to Miami is complete without a beach day, with miles upon miles of white-sand beaches to choose from. We recommend Crandon Park Beach on Key Biscayne, which boasts a two-mile stretch of stunning shoreline as well as fun park activities to entertain everyone, from volleyball and tennis to hiking and biking. For more water-based activities, head to Hobie Beach near Key Biscayne and Downtown Miami, which is also known as Windsurfer Beach thanks to its prime windsurfing opportunities.
Families will also love historic Virginia Key Beach Park, where little ones can ride an antique carousel while the grown-ups top up their tans on the sand or from the comfort of a colourful beachfront cabin.
And, of course, there’s Miami’s famous South Beach (known locally as SoBe). Best-known for its buzzy nightlife and incredible Art Deco architecture, SoBe is also home to one of the area’s most popular beaches, with an impressive shoreline that’s not to be missed.
Why not stay a little longer and explore them all with a Miami multi-centre holiday?
In short: yes! This part of the world is famed for stunning coral reefs, which you can explore and enjoy with care.
Florida’s Coral Reef is the only bank-barrier reef in the continental US. Visit it from Biscayne Bay, south of Miami, home to an incredible array of over 500 species of reef fish. Snorkel, dive, or explore by boat; just be sure to take care and follow the area’s regulations to help protect the reefs for years to come.
There’s no shortage of coral reefs to explore in the Caribbean either. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced diver, you’ll find plenty of opportunity to get below the surface and explore nature’s wonderland. We recommend Mesoamerican Reef in Belize (the longest coral reef in the Northern Hemisphere), where you can spot 500 species of fish and more than 60 coral. Or head to Klein Bonaire Reef for one of the area’s most pristine reefs; the protected marine park offers dives from the short or wall dives that drop to 100 feet.
Malmok Beach near the northwestern tip of Aruba is also worth a visit, with the narrow beach popular for swimming and snorkelling. Three shipwrecks offer varying degrees of dive difficulty, including one for the novices.
With more than 700 islands, reefs, and cays, there’s plenty to explore in the Caribbean. So which should you prioritise? We’ve outlined a few of our favourites below.
For a taste of the quiet Caribbean life, visit St Kitts and neighbouring Nevis, where a relaxing itinerary of golf and beach days awaits. For a little more adventure, lace up your hiking boots and explore the rainforest, where you can spot green vervet monkeys swinging through the trees. In contrast, lively Jamaica is well worth a visit, packed with character and soul; we recommend visiting the jungle hideaway of Port Antonio or heading to Seven Mile Beach – one of Jamaica’s best stretches of white sands.
In Barbados, you’ll find an island full of history, culture, and unforgettable nightlife, making it great for an adults-only holiday; head to the bustling capital of Bridgetown or catch Friday Night Fish Fry in the village of Oistins.
St Lucia’s diverse landscape will appeal to nature lovers, with rainforests and volcanoes as well as those pristine sandy stretches you picture when you think of the Caribbean. Here, you can go zip-lining through dense jungle or hike the mountains.
