Florida Highlights
Florida is famed for having a little of everything, from thrilling theme parks to breathtaking vistas and incredible wildlife. Visit coastal hotspots and vibrant cities or head down to the Florida Keys for some peace and tranquillity during your holiday. All while savouring delicious, fresh Florida cuisine, of course. Are you ready to discover Florida’s best side?
Theme Parks
Orlando’s known as the Theme Park Capital of the World and for good reason: with Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, LEGOLAND, and more all to discover, it’s the perfect destination for thrill-seekers. Ride roller coasters, make a splash at water parks, and meet Mickey, Minnie and co. during your adventure.
Beaches
From the golden sands of Florida’s Gulf Coast to the Atlantic east-coast beaches, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Experience the lively Daytona Beach, peaceful Naples, or head up to the Panhandle and discover Panama City Beach. Wherever you head, pack your sunscreen and swimming costumes and dive into either relaxation or adventure.
Year-Round Sun
It’s no coincidence that Florida is known as the ‘Sunshine State’, thanks to its subtropical climate and near year-round mild temperatures. It’s the main reason visitors flock to the state each year dreaming of long lazy beach days under the sun. It can experience daily rain though, especially during the hurricane season that runs from June to November - but it’s brief!
Family-Friendly
With incredible attractions and many beaches with calm waters, Florida is the ultimate family-friendly holiday destination. Of course, there’s Walt Disney World Resort, but beyond that there’s plenty to see and do, whether you’re travelling with tiny tots or older teens. Swim with dolphins, visit museums, or take a road trip to the Florida Keys on an epic road trip.
Bahamas Highlights
The Bahamas are known for their picture-perfect beauty and impressive diversity, with an extraordinary tapestry of natural marvels waiting to be explored. From ethereal beaches to kaleidoscopic marine life, plunge into turquoise depths, discover coral reefs, and dance the night away as you immerse yourself in the vibrant rhythm of Bahamian culture. It’s an exhilarating fusion of relaxation and adventure that has something for everybody.
Gorgeous Beaches
Picture-perfect beaches, with the backdrop of the stunning turquoise of the Atlantic, define the archipelago. The Bahamas are world-renowned for their powdery white sand beaches and hidden coves, and it’s hard not to be seriously impressed by its stunning stretches of coastline.
Diverse Marine Life
The Bahamas are renowned for diverse marine life, and so are a fantastic choice for those who want to try their hand at some snorkelling and diving. From vibrant coral gardens to the mesmerising blue holes, tropical fish, rays, and sharks, the archipelago has some incredible aquatic experiences.
Natural Beauty
Beyond the famous beaches lies a whole other realm of natural beauty. Explore lush landscapes, hidden blue holes, and the striking contrast of deep blue waters against extraordinary coral reefs. With diverse ecosystems and lush vegetation, it’s a nature-lover’s paradise.
Vibrant Culture
Get into the Bahamian spirit when you dive into the Bahamas' lively culture - a spirited fusion of music, dance, and vibrant Bahamian flavours. From rhythmic Junkanoo parades to delicious conch delicacies, you can feel the warmth of the Bahamian people and culture, where every interaction stands as a celebration of the islands' rich cultural tapestry.

Florida & Bahamas Holidays FAQs
Florida & Bahamas Holidays FAQs
Florida & Bahamas Holidays FAQs
The best time of year for Florida and the Bahamas multi-centre holidays is from mid-December to mid-May. During these months, both destinations benefit from mild temperatures and low humidity, providing a warm, winter sun escape for UK travellers.
Florida in winter through to spring experiences temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C, so it’s ideal for hitting the beach and the theme parks. Similarly, the Bahamas sees lows of 17°C and highs of 30°C.
Mid-December to mid-April is the peak season in both destinations as holidaymakers flock to enjoy the dry, balmy weather. If you would prefer a trip without the crowds, both destinations enjoy year-round sunshine so there’s no bad time to visit.
We recommend avoiding the summer months as they’re scorching hot. Hurricane season from June to November can bring strong winds and daily downpours too.
The Bahamas is an archipelago made up of nearly 700 coral islands. Around 30 of them are inhabited, so it can be a challenge to narrow it down to just a couple on your Bahamas twin-centre itinerary. If you’re feeling a little stuck, we can help.
For those who would like both the city and the beach, New Providence would be the best fit. The island is home to the capital, Nassau and it’s the most popular Bahamian destination. From a historic city centre to miles of generous white-sand beaches, everything is at your fingertips here.
The aptly named Paradise Island is ideal for families with children thanks to its family-friendly resorts. Connected to Nassau by two bridges, it’s easily accessible from the capital city and 30 minutes from the airport.
For more remote beauty and the chance to swim with the Bahamas’ famous pigs, the Exumas will take your breath away. They’re made up of 350 islands, most of which are uninhabited except for Great Exuma. Here, you’ll find picture-perfect vistas of white sand beaches and turquoise waters, combining both adventure and luxury. Golf lovers can also tee off at one of the most spectacular Championship golf courses in the Caribbean.
If you’re craving the chance to escape it all, Eleuthera is well-known for its pretty pink-sand beaches which invite you to relax all day long. Go sailing, surfing and snorkelling in paradise.
More pink beaches can be found on Harbour Island - which is small enough to get around by a golf cart! The Abaco Islands also have a laid-back atmosphere and incredible diving spots. It’s not called the “Jewel of the Bahamas” for nothing.
Florida and the Bahamas share the same Eastern Time Zone (EST), so there’s usually no time difference between them. They both observe Daylight Savings Time.
Florida and the Bahamas are 5 hours behind the UK. If you’re travelling in March or November, make sure to check when US time zones change to Daylight Saving Time as their clocks go forwards or backwards an hour on different Sundays to the UK.
For Florida and the Bahamas twin-centre holidays, the best airport depends on where you plan to go first. One of the top airports we recommend in Florida is Orlando International Airport (MCO) as there are direct flights from the UK and it’s located less than a half-hour’s drive from Walt Disney World Resort.
Another great choice is Miami International Airport (MIA) as there are non-stop flights from the UK. Located about 13 miles northwest of downtown Miami, it’s the largest airport hub in Florida. It’s situated approximately 8 miles northwest of downtown Miami and it’s just 16 minutes by car or private shuttle service.
For the Bahamas, Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) is your main international hub for the islands. Located just 10 miles from Nassau's city centre, it’s close to the capital and it has easy access to resorts nearby. From there, you can also catch a plane to other islands in the Bahamian archipelago.
We are pleased to offer guaranteed prices up to 36 months ahead of your twin-centre holiday. You can secure your perfect package with an initial low deposit today and pay the remainder of your holiday in monthly instalments.
Booking well ahead gives you the best rates on hotels and flights so don’t wait to start planning your Florida twin-centre itinerary.
Watersports are one of the best things to do when you visit the coast of Florida, whether you’re seeking gentle kayaking excursions or adrenaline-pumping parasailing activities.
Some of the top places to go for snorkelling and scuba diving are the Florida Keys. The John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo is famous for its beautiful coral reefs teeming with tropical marine life.
For paddleboarding and kayaking with a unique twist, head inland to the Everglades where a labyrinth of mangroves reveals a wilderness where reptiles and birds rule. Over on the Space Coast, the Atlantic Ocean offers the perfect conditions for surfing. You’ll find the largest surf school in the US at Cocoa Beach.
On the Gulf Coast, Clearwater Beach is a prime spot for parasailing and more wind-based activities like windsurfing can be found at Fort Myers and Naples.
Since both Florida and the Bahamas have tropical climates with plenty of humidity and sunshine, we recommend packing lightweight, breathable clothing for your trip. Choose loose-fitting dresses, t-shirts, shorts and tops to help you stay cool and comfortable in the heat.
Don’t forget sturdy footwear for sightseeing and flip-flops, swimsuits and coverups for beach days. Wear plenty of high-SPF sun cream, a wide-brimmed sun hat and sunglasses for all your outdoor adventures too.
Bring a reusable water bottle to help you stay hydrated in the heat. You might also want to pack a rain jacket for the occasional downpour and some smart-casual evening attire like shirts, light trousers and nice dresses for upscale resorts with dress codes.
Florida is conveniently located within easy reach of the Bahamas, making it a top choice for a twin-centre itinerary. In fact, the Bahamas are the closest Caribbean nation to fly to from the US state.
From Miami, the flight time to Nassau is just 35 minutes. Orlando is slightly further away at 1 hour and 24 minutes. Better still, you don’t even need to fly to reach the paradise of the Caribbean. From Fort Lauderdale, it’s possible to catch a high-speed ferry to Bimini, the westernmost island in the Bahamas - the journey takes approximately 2 hours.
Choosing between Orlando and Miami is a tough call as both cities are iconic US destinations. In the end, it comes down to what you would like to get out of your holiday.
If you’re seeking thrills or family adventures, Orlando may be the place for you. Referred to as the “Theme Park Capital of the World,” the city is home to Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort. They’re both packed with rollercoasters and immersive experiences to help you create lasting memories with your loved ones.
Miami, on the other hand, is a cosmopolitan coastal city known for its Art Deco architecture, dynamic neighbourhoods, top shopping spots and legendary nightlife. You can find a melting pot of incredible international cuisines and cultural influences all over the city.
Miami also benefits from having some of the best beaches in Florida just a stone’s throw away from Downtown. A favourite spot is South Beach with its generous stretch of golden sand, celebrity-chef restaurants and fashionable bars.
If you can’t decide between Miami and Orlando, why not visit both? Speak to our travel experts to create an itinerary that combines these iconic Floridian cities.
