Florida Highlights
Florida is famed for having a little of everything, from thrilling theme parks to breathtaking vistas and incredible wildlife. Visit coastal hotspots and vibrant cities or head down to the Florida Keys for some peace and tranquillity during your holiday. All while savouring delicious, fresh Florida cuisine, of course. Are you ready to discover Florida’s best side?

Theme Parks
Orlando’s known as the Theme Park Capital of the World and for good reason: with Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, LEGOLAND, and more all to discover, it’s the perfect destination for thrill-seekers. Ride roller coasters, make a splash at water parks, and meet Mickey, Minnie and co. during your adventure.

Beaches
From the golden sands of Florida’s Gulf Coast to the Atlantic east-coast beaches, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Experience the lively Daytona Beach, peaceful Naples, or head up to the Panhandle and discover Panama City Beach. Wherever you head, pack your sunscreen and swimming costumes and dive into either relaxation or adventure.

Year-Round Sun
It’s no coincidence that Florida is known as the ‘Sunshine State’, thanks to its subtropical climate and near year-round mild temperatures. It’s the main reason visitors flock to the state each year dreaming of long lazy beach days under the sun. It can experience daily rain though, especially during the hurricane season that runs from June to November - but it’s brief!

Family-Friendly
With incredible attractions and many beaches with calm waters, Florida is the ultimate family-friendly holiday destination. Of course, there’s Walt Disney World Resort, but beyond that there’s plenty to see and do, whether you’re travelling with tiny tots or older teens. Swim with dolphins, visit museums, or take a road trip to the Florida Keys on an epic road trip.
California Highlights
California is known for its rugged beauty, with stunning Pacific coastlines, vast deserts, and breath-taking national parks. Of course, there are iconic and lively cities too, from Los Angeles to San Francisco, perfect for those who want a faster pace. Discover the Californian way of life and – trust us – you won’t want to leave.

Beaches
From the long stretches of golden sands at Malibu and Laguna Beach, to the lively piers at Santa Monica and Newport Beach, to the rugged coastline of Monterey – there’s more to California beaches than meets the eye. Pack your sun cream and enjoy a day of ocean breeze and Pacific waters.

National Parks
California is home to nine national parks – more than any other US state. Each has their own appeal, from the ominous Death Valley to the charm of Joshua Tree. Yosemite is perhaps its most famous, attracting millions of visitors each year. It boasts some of the best hiking trails and views in the country.

Vibrant Cities
There’s more to California than beaches and parks though; the state’s cities are well worth a visit (although, granted, most are coastal cities offering the best of both worlds!). From Los Angeles and San Diego to the state’s capital, Sacramento, or the excitement of San Francisco, get ready to explore.

Iconic Landmarks
Picture California and you’ll likely think of at least one of the state’s famous landmarks, from the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. But there are lesser-known landmarks to discover too, including Hearst Castle on Highway 1 and Glass Beach in Fort Bragg.

Florida & California Holiday FAQs
Florida & California Holiday FAQs
Florida & California Holiday FAQs
For Florida and California multi-centre holidays, one of the best times to visit both states is in the spring and autumn months. In spring (from March to May), both Florida and California have good weather. In Florida, particularly in destinations like Orlando and Miami, you can enjoy pleasant temperatures ranging between 20°C to 30°C, which is ideal for exploring the state's renowned theme parks when they tend to be a little quieter. In California, cities like Los Angeles and San Diego also have lovely spring weather, with temperatures averaging between 15°C to 25°C.
In autumn (from September to November), you’ll also find nice weather in both destinations. In Florida, the scorching summer heat starts to wane, making outdoor activities in places like the Everglades and the Florida Keys way more comfortable. California also has mild temperatures and fewer tourists crowding the popular destinations, as well as the state's wine regions (including Napa Valley), which are in their prime at this time of year.
If you’re looking to travel in the winter months and escape the UK chill, you’ll find warmer temperatures in Florida (ranging from 15°C to 25°C), and milder conditions in California (around 12°C to 20°C.)
Florida is usually 5 hours behind the UK, and California is usually 8 hours behind. Bear in mind that when Daylight Saving Time is in effect, this will reduce by 1 hour. California is also 3 hours behind Florida.
When planning Florida and California twin-centre holidays, you’ll typically depart from major airports like London Heathrow (LHR) and London Gatwick (LGW).
In Florida, your choice of airport will depend on your chosen destination. If you’re heading to Orlando for its world-renowned theme parks, Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the most convenient choice. Miami International Airport (MIA) serves well if you're heading to the city or planning to explore the southern regions of Florida. For the Gulf Coast or destinations like Tampa, Tampa International Airport (TPA) is a good option.
In California, if you have plans in your multi-centre itinerary to visit Los Angeles, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will be your point of call. For San Diego, arrive at San Diego International Airport (SAN), and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the primary entry point if you're exploring the northern part of the state, including San Francisco and nearby areas.
You can lock in multi-centre holidays to Florida and California with fixed prices up to 36 months ahead of your trip, meaning you can make an initial low deposit and spread the remaining costs through monthly instalments.
For your California multi-centre itinerary, you’ll have plenty of destinations to choose from. This diverse state has a wide range of options to explore, each with their own unique charm.
Los Angeles is great if you’re seeking a mixture of glitz and glamour as well as plenty of entertainment. With iconic attractions like the Walk of Fame and Universal Studios, movie lovers will enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city.
San Francisco is a great option if you love diving into local culture. With a rich history and stunning landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, it's also a gateway to nearby natural wonders like Muir Woods and Napa Valley. However, if you’re craving warm beach weather, it might not be the best spot for you, as it tends to be a little cooler.
San Diego tends to be loved by families. It has beautiful beaches, family-friendly attractions, and a relaxed atmosphere that gives it a more chilled feel than some of the other, busier American cities.
Napa Valley is a total haven for wine connoisseurs, and is often frequented by couples looking for a romantic getaway. With vineyard-side bed and breakfasts, gourmet dining, and picturesque countryside, it’s a tranquil and indulgent-feeling spot.
Finally, Yosemite National Park is a total paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Hikers, rock climbers, and nature lovers will relish the opportunity to stay in rustic cabins or camp in the wilderness and enjoy the feeling of being a little more off the grid.
The state of California has plenty for families to do, depending on where you are in the region.
In Southern California, of course, you can't miss a visit to Disneyland Resort. There are two world-class theme parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, which have thrilling rides and create an enchanting experience for visitors of all ages.
Heading north to San Francisco, the Exploratorium is another great choice for families. This hands-on science museum has a wide range of exhibits and activities that spark the little ones’ curiosity and encourages them to learn and explore. Kids can engage with fascinating displays, conduct experiments, and discover the wonders of science in an engaging way.
If you’re heading to the central coast, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is a must-visit attraction. Situated on the picturesque Cannery Row, this epic aquarium is a captivating marine experience, where you can marvel at diverse sea life, from playful sea otters to mesmerising jellyfish.
In the eastern Sierra Nevada region, Yosemite National Park is great for families who love the great outdoors. Explore awe-inspiring landscapes, hike family-friendly trails, and witness iconic sights like Yosemite Falls and Half Dome. Junior Ranger programs and ranger-led activities provide great educational opportunities for kids, helping them to foster a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
The Sunshine State has a whole host of varied destinations to explore, depending on what you’re looking for as part of your Florida multi-centre itinerary.
Orlando is an epic adventure for families, and adventure enthusiasts will love exploring the renowned theme parks like Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort. For a trip full of thrills and an enchanting holiday for the little ones, this is a great choice.
Miami, on the other hand, is perfect for sun-seekers and revellers - its iconic South Beach has picturesque sandy shores and an electric nightlife. If basking in the sun by day and dancing the night away in the evening is your thing, this is the spot for you.
Key West has a lovely romantic charm, and is great if you’re in search of an intimate getaway. This quaint island is known for its picturesque streets, enchanting sunsets, and a thriving arts community, so is perfectly suited to travelers looking for something chilled.
Tampa Bay has a good balance of family-friendly attractions and cultural experiences. With theme park adventures and historical spots to explore, it’s a nice destination for those looking for something a little more well-rounded.
Finally, Naples offers a slice of upscale relaxation, with luxurious resorts, gourmet dining options and pristine beaches. If you like the finer things in life and aren’t on a tight budget, you’ll enjoy this indulgent spot.
Orlando is a top destination for families with world-renowned theme parks like Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, and SeaWorld Orlando. With thrilling rides, lovable character encounters, and endless entertainment, this is a spot that will captivate visitors of all ages. Beyond the theme parks, you can explore attractions like ICON Park, which features the ICON Orlando Observation Wheel and Madame Tussauds Orlando.
On Florida's Gulf Coast, Tampa Bay has attractions like Busch Gardens, where families can experience white-knuckle rides and encounter exotic animals. The nearby Clearwater Beach also has gorgeous sandy shores and plenty of opportunities for watersports.
In Miami, head to The Frost Science Museum, which is an educational and entertaining experience, with planetarium shows, aquariums, and science exhibitions. Miami's beautiful beaches also have ample opportunities for swimming, building sandcastles, and enjoying the warm, sunny climate.
In the Florida Keys, you can snorkel at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park or visit the Turtle Hospital in Marathon. The Keys also have lots of opportunities for kayaking, exploring nature trails, and discovering the diverse marine life. For a unique experience, consider a glass-bottom boat tour to see the vibrant underwater world without getting wet.
