Immerse yourself in the magical worlds of Orlando's theme parks and then swap your Mickey ears for flip-flops and head to Sarasota's serene Gulf Coast beaches. You’ll rest your tired theme park feet on powder-soft sands and dip your toes in the Gulf’s crystal-clear waters - well-deserved, too.
Both cities have something for everyone, whether you're seeking adrenaline-pumping ‘coasters, upscale shopping districts, waterfront fine dining, or days out exploring Florida’s natural wonders. While Orlando's vibrant Downtown buzzes with family entertainment, Sarasota relaxes the tempo and invites you to soak up the city’s blend of peaceful beaches, unique attractions, and rich history (it’s renowned as America’s Circus City!).
It’s Florida’s key cities and a holiday like no other. Ready to start planning?

Orlando Highlights
Orlando is world-famous for its family-friendly attractions, not to mention a certain big-eared mouse! From lively theme parks to glorious natural environments and fantastic dining and shopping experiences to out-of-this world entertainment, Orlando delivers an unforgettable holiday for every member of the family.
Theme Parks
Orlando is the proud home of two of the world’s biggest theme park resorts: Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, as well as many thrilling entertainment attractions and water parks. Charming millions of visitors each year to Florida, the parks are constantly evolving with new, state-of-the-art rides and experiences to wow and delight visitors young and old.
World-Class Shopping
For many, boutique and outlet shopping trips make up a huge portion of Orlando holidays, and whether you’re planning on taking advantage of incredible discounts like in the infamous Black Friday Sales, or you’re simply looking to add to your Disney souvenir collection, your retail needs will be satisfied beyond measure!
Excellent Dining
There are thousands of places to eat and drink in Orlando, so you can dine somewhere different every time you get hungry. The parks and resorts are filled with marvellous themed eateries to try from cool and casual to Michelin-starred fine dining, while the range of restaurants on offer in the popular tourist areas and shopping malls is second to none.
The Great Outdoors
Despite the chaos of the city, there are many opportunities to get back to nature and escape the throngs of tourists. Head outwards from Downtown Orlando and admire crystalline spring waters, miles and miles of nature trails, an abundance of native wildlife and discover the Floridians’ deep commitment to the protection of the natural world.
Sarasota Highlights
Sarasota’s attractions are varied and exciting, from the culturally significant museums and galleries of its art scene to the world-class beaches and tranquil pockets of nature dotted in and around the county. And if you’re travelling as a couple, group or a family with young children, there is something to suit everyone in this beautiful region of Florida’s Gulf Coast.
World-Class Beaches
Set along the glittering Gulf of Mexico for more than 35 miles, Sarasota boasts some of the best beaches in the Sunshine State. Gentle blue green waters are edged by impossibly white quartz sands and framed by limestone ledges, offering several relaxing spots for couples, families and groups of friends seeking unforgettable oceanside fun.
Great Food & Drink
Like much of the coastal regions of Florida, Sarasota specialises in succulent seafood alongside a colourful blend of internationally inspired cuisines from Spain, Italy and South America. Whether you’re keen to try some fresh oysters in the half shell or fill up on a classic Cuban sandwich, this city delivers taste and culinary flair in abundance.
Cultural Attractions
Sarasota is known for its colourful and eclectic art community and with its famous circus origins, it’s no surprise why. Make time to visit the city’s impressive theatres, galleries and museums, which are known for their architectural grandeur as much as the art collections themselves. And outdoors, you’ll discover an ever-changing collection of installations and exhibits in public spaces and attractions.
A Place for Nature Lovers
The region is full of unique natural spaces that beckon to be explored, from lush swamplands to free-flowing rivers, botanical gardens and waterfront parks, Sarasota has it all. Get up close to the native flora and fauna and absorb this environmentally diverse place, from kayaking through the mangroves to feeding flamingos right from your hands!

Orlando & Sarasota FAQs
Orlando & Sarasota FAQs
Orlando & Sarasota FAQs
For peaceful Orlando and Sarasota twin-centre holidays, try avoiding the peak summer and Spring Break crowds. We think February, March, and September are the best months due to the combination of high sun and fewer crowds, but ultimately there’s no wrong time to visit Orlando. With its year-round sunny weather and a calendar full of seasonal events and festivals, there’s no doubt you'll find something to love in every season.
Sarasota similarly offers good sunny weather year-round. We’d also suggest avoiding the hottest and most humid period from May to September as the milder months of November through to February bring great weather without the risk of high humidity and hurricane storms.
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the most popular airport for flying into Orlando as it’s just 6 miles from the main theme park district, where Universal and Disney can be found. The main airport in Sarasota is Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (around 4 miles north of Downtown Sarasota).
Good news! Orlando and Sarasota are both on the Eastern Time Zone (ET) meaning there’s no time difference and you won’t need to adjust your clocks (or deal with any jet lag!) on your twin-centre holidays.
The travel distance between Orlando and Sarasota is approximately 120 miles (if you’re travelling by road), meaning the drive time is around 2 to 2-and-a-half hours. You can choose to rent a car and hop on the road yourself; alternatively, there are plenty of direct coach and bus trips you can take if you’re not renting your own vehicle.
Yes! Sarasota boasts a prime locale on the gorgeous Gulf Coast of Florida. It’s a sophisticated coastal city situated on the Southwestern Coast of the Florida state and it’s well-known for its bright, white sand beaches where you can dip your toes in the gentle waves of the Gulf of Mexico.
Start planning your Gulf Coast dream with our available Sarasota twin-centre holidays.
Sarasota is a paradise for beach lovers! One of the most popular coastal spots is the award-winning Siesta Key Beach known for its powdery crystal sands that stay cool even in scorching summer months. Or there’s Lido Beach, another gem for that quintessential beachy escape with its serene atmosphere and calm turquoise waters. You can also spot nesting turtles on Turtle Beach or venture off the beaten track a little at Beer Can Island, known for its rustic coastline and peaceful sense of seclusion away from Downtown Sarasota. The options are practically endless.
Multi-centre holidays to Orlando and Sarasota don’t have to be all about the beach dwelling. There are plenty of fun things to do and must-visit places elsewhere in the city. Learn about the city’s spectacular circus history at The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art filled with all sorts of exciting exhibitions and art galleries. Or there’s Myakka River State Park, Florida's largest state park home to unique wildlife, hiking trails, airboat tours, and the must-try Canopy Walkway that takes you high up amongst the park’s treetops. And don’t miss St. Armands Circle, a charming shopping and dining district found along St. Armands Key and home to all sorts of restaurants, bars, and boutiques for picking up souvenirs. It truly comes alive at night!
Our Orlando and Sarasota twin-centre holidays make for a perfect family getaway! Sarasota’s super welcoming atmosphere and mix of kid-friendly attractions make it the perfect place to visit with youngsters. When you’re not building sandcastles on Siesta Key Beach, you’ll be getting up close and personal with all sorts of marine creatures at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, including turtles, sharks, manatees, and lots more. There’s also Sarasota Jungle Gardens, a fun-filled zoo offering animal interactions with all your favourites like parrots, tortoises, lemurs, alligators, and more.
Calling all foodies! Sarasota is home to all sorts of restaurants, each unique to the moment. If it’s a fine dining experience you’re after, try booking a table at Michael’s On East renowned for its chic piano bar vibes or Indigenous, a local favourite loved for its warm atmosphere and farm-to-table-style menu of delicious locally-sourced ingredients.
There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants if it’s a family Orlando and Sarasota twin-centre holiday you’re planning. Grab a casual bite to eat at Oleary’s Tiki Bar after a day relaxing around Sarasota Bay or head to Owen’s Fish Camp, an outdoorsy country-style eatery serving up freshly caught seafood, craft beer, and a wooden swing for kids to play on in between courses.
Split between the iconic Universal theme parks (Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios), the Wizarding World has all sorts of magic to experience. Head to Hogsmeade for a butterbeer and a venture inside Hogwarts Castle with a ride on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, a groundbreaking dark ride where you’ll encounter dementors, the Whomping Willow, and Aragog the spider.
Or, you can take the iconic Hogwarts Express over to Diagon Alley where you’ll explore shops like Ollivanders and Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, take the wrong turn down Knockturn Alley, or hop on board the underground thrills of the Escape to Gringotts 3D rollercoaster. And don’t forget to join everyone’s favourite groundskeeper with a ride on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, an award-winning family rollercoaster that takes you on an unforgettable ride around the Forbidden Forest (just watch out for the three-headed Fluffy!
Start dreaming of Universal and plan your Orlando twin-centre holidays, today.
Orlando and Sarasota multi-centre holidays are simply made for theme park fun, because (in our humble opinion) all of Disney’s theme parks are big contenders for being the best. It’s almost impossible to choose a number one. The Magic Kingdom is a family favourite with its classic fairy tale rides and the iconic Cinderella’s Castle. There’s also Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a park packed with immersive lands like Star Wars’ Batuu and Toy Story Land — plus plenty of thrill rides like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster ideal for adrenaline junkies.
Or there’s Animal Kingdom, a nature lover’s dream with its combination of rides and wildlife experiences including Kilimanjaro Safaris, which takes you on an open-air tour of Disney’s very own manmade savanna. And don’t forget EPCOT, a place where imagination meets discovery thanks to its showcase of innovation, technology, and world culture (the park’s name stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow).
It’s all down to personal preference, so let’s weigh up the pros and cons. Renting a car can provide convenience and flexibility for exploring Orlando on your terms, and it’s particularly great if you plan to theme park hop from park to park or venture a little beyond the city to other nearby destinations like Clearwater or Tampa. However, just beware it helps to be confident driving on Orlando’s roads and make sure you budget for additional costs like fuel.
And remember, there are plenty of other transport options if you decide car rental isn’t for you. Ride-hailing apps like Lyft and Uber are readily available and the Universal and Disney resorts offer complimentary transport around the resorts (perfect for if you’re staying on-site in one of their hotels).
