Orlando & Jamaica FAQs
Known as the Sunshine State, Florida lives up to its name with sunny weather year-round. However, for a more comfortable visit, we recommend a trip during the milder winter months of late November to March when you can avoid the sweltering summer heat and humidity. Visiting outside of the summer and Spring Break seasons also means smaller crowds, though keep in mind that Orlando's popular attractions always draw visitors year-round.
Discover more about what’s on offer with our Orlando multi-centres.
Jamaica boasts warm and sunny weather throughout the year, making it a crowd-pleasing destination whenever the mood takes you. However, we recommend the drier season of January through to April if you want to avoid the wetter and more hurricane-prone season of late Spring to September. Just note that the drier high season is also when hotels are busiest, so try the months of November and December if you want your best chances of rainless sunshine without the peak crowds.

Orlando International Airport (MCO) is your best choice for an Orlando gateway, conveniently located just 6 miles from the Downtown theme park district. When heading to Jamaica, Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay is the most popular choice thanks to its easy access to the island's top resorts and attractions. Alternatively, there’s Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) located in the island’s south region just 7 miles from New Kingston’s city centre.
Orlando follows Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) while Jamaica is on Eastern Standard Time (EST), making Orlando just 1 hour ahead of Jamaica. So, you won’t have to worry about any pesky jet-lag when planning your multi-centres.
The flight distance between Orlando and Jamaica is approximately 760 miles, making it a flight duration of around 2 to 3 hours, depending on your chosen route.
No Orlando and Jamaica twin-centre holiday is complete without a day at the beach — and thankfully Jamaica boasts a variety of stunning options along its 600 miles of coastline! Doctor's Cave Beach in Montego Bay is renowned for its clear azure waters and powdery sands perfect for a typical laid-back beach day with the whole family, while the famous Seven Mile Beach in Negril is a destination for quintessential postcard-ready beauty ideal for snapping up the holiday selfies. Or there’s Dunn's River Falls Beach near Ocho Rios which combines the island’s stunning natural scenery with thrilling waterfall adventures. Here you’ll spend your day bathing in lagoon pools and hiking wet climbs hand-in-hand.
Absolutely! Our Orlando and Jamaica multi-centre holidays are designed to cater to all types of travellers, including families with youngsters! The island is home to a variety of kid-orientated activities and days-out including water parks, wildlife encounters, and interactive cultural experiences.
Highlights include horseback riding on one of the island’s many beaches, river rafting along the Martha Brae River, getting up close and personal with hummingbirds at Rocklands Bird Sanctuary, or there’s Negril’s Kool Runnings Water Park which is home to 10 thrilling splash-down slides. And if it's wonderful attractions weren’t enough, Jamaica’s warm and friendly atmosphere also makes it a welcoming place to visit no matter your age.
There’s plenty of rich culture and natural wonders to discover beyond Jamaica’s beaches. Check out Kingston’s Bob Marley Museum where you can learn about the reggae legend's life and music. Or there’s the breathtaking Blue Mountains, perfect for active adventure-seekers up for a hike along trails with sweeping mountainside vistas. Shoppers can explore the vibrant local markets of Hip Strip in Montego Bay and Ocho Rios Craft Market, both ideal for picking up unique souvenirs for loved ones back home and immersing yourself in the best of Jamaica’s high-spirited community.
Jamaica is a culinary paradise for foodies and offers a wide range of dining experiences, from charming markets with unique local delicacies to upscale fusion restaurants with stunning ocean views. Make sure you sample the island's must-try favourites, including jerk chicken, curried goat, and catch-of-the-day seafood at beachfront eateries. And wash it all down with a glass of refreshing coconut water or a tropical rum cocktail.
Highlight places to eat include the fine dining seafood delights of Negril’s Rockhouse Restaurant, the mouth-watering BBQ grilled meats of Montego Bay’s Sugar Mill, and Scotchies, a local favourite offering a no-fuss, laid-back atmosphere and arguably best jerk chicken across the whole island.
While Orlando is famous for its theme parks, there's also much more to explore beyond its rollercoasters during your multi-centre holidays to Orlando and Jamaica. You can venture a little further out of the city centre and hop onboard an airboat for a high-speed tour of the Everglades and a chance to see Florida’s gators in their natural habitat. Or there are endless indoor museums perfect for a rainy day with their wacky and must-see exhibitions, including WonderWorks, Ripley’s Believe it or Not, and Madame Tussauds.
We also recommend visiting NASA’s headquarters over at Kennedy Space Center for a day of riding flight simulators, seeing rockets up close, and learning all about the latest goings-on in modern space exploration. You can also time your visit with a real-life space launch viewing if you check out the centre’s launch schedule.
Orlando is home to a diverse dining scene that caters to all ages and tastebuds, whether you’re a couple of fine diners or a family with picky eaters. Victoria and Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is the pinnacle of fine dining in Orlando, boasting a pre-fixe menu of exquisite culinary creations. Or there are slightly more affordable local favourites like the gastropub vibes of The Ravenous Pig or the award-winning meat and seafood found at Christner's Prime Steak & Lobster, both options offering upscale dining atmospheres and menus of freshly sourced ingredients
There are tonnes of options if it’s a family meal you’re after, too. Excitable youngsters will love dining amongst animatronic dinos in the immersive T-Rex Restaurant or getting caught in the tropical rainstorms of the Rainforest Cafe (both with super-kid-friendly menus of American classics). Or there’s the welcoming Southern-style vibes of Homecomin' Florida Kitchen serving up comfort food favourites and handpicked American whiskeys for grown ups. And don’t miss out on the once-in-a-lifetime Beauty & the Beast-themed experience of Be Our Guest: take a seat within Beast’s enchanted Castle and tuck into a French-inspired 3-course meal.
Just remember to make reservations as Orlando’s most popular restaurants can get particularly busy during peak tourist seasons.
