Dust off your sunnies, glass slippers, and Mickey ears, and get ready for the ultimate Disney experience this summer. For the first time since 2019, all six Disney parks at
Walt Disney World will be open and brimming with excitement from May 2025! Guests can explore the joys of Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, and Blizzard Beach all in one unforgettable Orlando holiday…
When Will the Two Waterparks Open?
Usually, Blizzard Beach is open in the winter while Typhoon Lagoon is closed, switching slots for the spring. But not this year. Both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are set to welcome guests from May 21st through to September 7th, marking the first time in six years that both will be open at the same time. This means, however, that prior to May Blizzard Beach will be taking a short break to prepare. So, if you want to soak up all the magic on offer at Walt Disney World Resort, this summer is your best bet.
Typhoon Lagoon
Disney’s tropical-themed waterpark transports visitors to a lush, storm-ravaged island filled with thrilling water attractions. The park is centred around a massive wave pool which generates six-foot waves and is the largest in North America. Whether you're riding giant waves, racing down thrilling water slides, or just floating along the lazy river, there's something for everyone…
Key attractions
Crush ‘n’ Gusher – Grab a buddy and prepare for a wild ride as you embark on either the Pineapple Plunger, Coconut Crusher, or Banana Blaster. Powerful water jets will propel you through sudden drops and sharp turns, making it one of parks most exciting and fast-paced attractions.
Miss Adventure Falls – Gather the whole crew for a whitewater family adventure. Equipped for four guests, the rafts take you on an epic quest for Captain Mary Oceaneer’s treasure lost in a typhoon.
Ketchakiddee Creek – Let little ones run riot at this interactive aquatic play area, featuring mini slides, shallow pools, gentle water sprays, and playful fountains, all set in a colourful, tropical-themed environment. And the shaded seating nearby is the perfect place for parents to watch on.
Storm Slides - Zoom down from Mount Mayday through grottos and past rocky outcrops for a grand finale splashdown. You can pick from one of three slides - Jib Jammer, Stern Burner, or Rudder Buster - but whichever you pick, you’re in for a high speed, heart pounding adventure.
Castaway Creek - Float along this lazy river on inner tubes through a scenic route filled with lush greenery, waterfalls, misty caves, and even a rainforest. It’s the perfect chill-out spot to unwind between the more thrilling attractions or just enjoy the tropical atmosphere at a slower pace.
Side note: Along with these top attractions, summer 2025 also sees the return of H2O Glow, a special nighttime event that transforms the water park into a vibrant, neon-lit party.
Blizzard Beach
Imagine stepping into a snow-covered wonderland, where the chill of winter meets the warmth of the Florida sun—welcome to Blizzard Beach. This one-of-a-kind water park invites you to experience a snowy retreat like no other, with a whimsical story that brings a ski resort, abandoned by a freak snowstorm, to life. It’s the perfect place to live out your Frozen Elsa dream…
Key attractions
Summit Plummet - Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach is the ultimate test of courage, where thrill-seekers face a heart-stopping plunge from the top of Mount Gushmore into a mind-bending mix of the senses. It’s not just a ride—it’s an adrenaline-packed adventure that takes you from the snowy heights to the splashy bottom in mere seconds, leaving you breathless and craving more.
Toboggan Racers - Embrace the thrill of friendly competition as you race down slick, snowy lanes. Lying flat on your stomach, you'll zoom headfirst past the competition toward the finish line. With eight lanes to race on, the excitement builds with each twist and turn, making it a high-energy challenge that’s as much about fun as it is about winning.
Melt-Away Bay - This tranquil, sandy lagoon features gentle waves that ebb and flow, inviting you to float lazily in the water or simply relax under the sun. Whether you're lounging by the shore or wading in the refreshing surf, the laid-back vibe of Melt-Away Bay is the perfect escape from the high-speed thrills of the park, offering a serene spot to unwind in the heart of the snowy-themed wonderland.
Tike’s Peak - Set amidst frosty, Frozen-themed structures, kids can zoom down snow-covered slides, climb icy hills, and explore Anna and Elsa’s Igloo fortress designed for endless play. Tike’s Peak is the ideal place for young thrill-seekers to enjoy a magical, wintry day without having to layer up.
Cross Country Creek – Grab an inner tube and kick back and relax as you float down this 3,000-foot-long lazy river. As you float along its gentle currents, you’ll pass through frosty caves, under cascading waterfalls, and alongside whimsical, winter-inspired scenery.
After all that adventure and mayhem, be sure to check out the range of quirky dining spots to feed your appetite, including Avalunch and Polar Pub which serve up a range of specialty snacks and drinks.
